Before the beginning of August, there was a slight cooling, which was good for the plants But now, starting today, high temperatures are starting again Today it is 34 degrees Celsius and tomorrow it will already go to 38 Like it or not, we have to be ready for another battle with the heat
I finally pulled out all the potatoes, they were long gone.
As far as I remember I only planted one type of potato and now it seems like there are three types.
I generally didn't plant a lot of potatoes, mostly for young potatoes.
The potatoes bore well, so the harvest took a while.
The zucchinis have enjoyed the drop in temperature and we are picking one almost every day.
Purple basil has also recovered.
And my first hot peppers are coming I planted a yellow type of pepperoni.I pick them just before they turn yellow.
And the peppers in the garden are doing well.
the irrigation system and hay and straw as mulch work great.
Although we have now switched to only hay, it is safer.
The cherry trees clearly want me.
I already have 17 cherry trees, four of which are producing fruit and 12 should be next year.
I already have a cherry bush in the front garden, 5-6 young shoots have sprouted.
And here is another cherry bush that has sprouted.
I don't have cherries there, but my neighbor does and ours is divided by a regular wire.
The raspberry has fully recovered, is blooming and bearing fruit.
I will have to water it well in the upcoming heat wave.
The young apple tree is growing nicely.
Now how long it will last depends on my son when he decides to pick it.
The leek survived the heatwave.
Probably because it was hidden with grass and purslane.
This year is not for tomatoes, at least for me, I'm constantly fighting stink bugs.
And the sweet corn didn't make much progress, but I left it to at least preserve the pumpkins a little.
I planted pumpkins and melons, added hay, and installed a watering can.
If your interested in pumpkins you can see more HERE.
I'm currently waiting for the heat to subside. So I can replace the pressure switch and pressure gauge on the water pump. So I'm fully prepared for the heat wave. And in general so the household can function normally.
Thanks for reading. Until next time. Be healthy.
