This week they announced another heat wave for us.
On Monday it was 38 degrees Celsius, but the other days varied a little so it was 33 and 36.
Although there is a high risk of fires because everything is mostly dry and parched.
I think this heat wave is milder than the last one.
And the nights are colder than last time.
Of course I was prepared for this heat wave too.
On the new young pumpkins that have taken root well, I added hay around the plants themselves, to retain moisture as long as possible.
And since the season is over for many varieties, I had a free hose from the irrigation system, so I placed it next to the pumpkins.
I am pleased with how the young pumpkins are progressing.
The past heat wave has left its mark on the plants.
but they have all managed to recover. Many new leaves are turning green.
Since I monitor the progress every day, they are holding up well to this current heat wave.
Last time I saw the first pumpkin fail
But now I have two new ones, which are doing well. And I think they will succeed
I must say that this time I was prepared.
I added a lot of hay around the plants.
and regular daily watering.
Of course, daily monitoring of how the plants are coping with the drought.
I hope for good results.garden
