Vojvodina soil

I have a problem with basil and hot pepper right now and I think it's a problem with the purchased humus. But I will explain that problem separately.

As for the soil in Vojvodina, the most common types are Black soil (humus), Alluvial soil (sand), and salt marsh. Of course, there are many subgroups and types of soil, but let me generalize into these three large groups. Vojvodina itself lies in the Pannonian Plain, which is located in the Eastern part of Central Europe. Some of the most famous cities in the Pannonian Plain are Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, and Zagreb.

As for the soil, I have black soil - humus and I have a part of salt marsh. In that salty part, which is at the end of the garden, I made an orchard. No vegetable crop has grown there, or very poorly. Although I am struggling to maintain the orchard as well But it is easier for me to add fertilizer around the fruit itself.

I would probably need large amounts of fertilizer to improve that entire part of the garden. This is how I decided to only apply fertilizer to targeted points As for the fertilizer, I make it myself. I use a mixture. I use chicken droppings, straw that is spread out at their place. I also add hay and everything that can be composted. All of this sits in a corner of the garden all year long, slowly "cooking," and in the fall I scatter it all over the garden and around the fruit trees. Sometimes it happens that I don't have enough ready-made humus for new plants that I need to sow in seedling cups. So I buy humus. and I make sure to mix the humus with garden soil in a 1:1 ratio. Because that plant will later go into that soil. So far, it has proven to be a good practice. My sister and brother-in-law live in another village, they breed horses. Last year I managed to get a horse manure hauler from them. I hope to do the same this year. They say that horse manure is one of the best quality. Whenever I can, I increase soil fertility.

Thanks for reading. Until next time.

Stay healthy.
