Do Men have the power to know the future?
As Christians, we must understand that God has given us the ability to know and discern our future. We should not simply accept whatever comes our way or live with a mindset of “whatever will be, will be.”
Jesus reminds us in John 14:29, “And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it comes to pass, ye might believe.” This shows that Christ revealed things ahead of time so that when they happen, we can have faith in His words and the truth of prophecy. Through Him, we learn and believe what God has spoken concerning our lives and future.
Brother Eli also helps us understand our destiny through Ecclesiastes 9:5: “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.” This scripture teaches us that the living know their time will end one day, but the dead have no knowledge or reward after life. It emphasizes that, as humans, death is inevitable, and beyond that comes judgment.
Hebrews 9:27 confirms this truth: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Everyone must face death once, and after that, we stand before God.
These scriptures help us realize that our time on earth is temporary, and judgment awaits us after death. As Christians, God has given us insights into the future so our faith can be strengthened. Believing in God’s revelations gives us confidence in what lies ahead.
