Seeking For a Wife
We are not the ones who truly find a wife; it is God who provides one at the right time. As humans, we often feel pressured to chase after many things: success, comfort, companionship. But when it comes to marriage, Scripture reminds us that God Himself is the one who arranges such destinies.
In Genesis 2:18, the Bible says that God noticed Adam was alone and decided to create a suitable helper for him. Adam did not search for a wife. God saw his need and supplied one.
This shows us that God already knows when we need a partner, and He will bring that person into our lives at the appointed time.
Proverbs 19:14 also says, “Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife comes from the Lord.” This means physical possessions can come from family, but a wise and godly wife is a gift only God can give.
So when we desire a godly wife, we must remember that she comes from God, not simply from our personal efforts or desires. We should trust God’s timing instead of stressing ourselves trying to find one.
Seeking a wife by our own strength is not necessary. God knows when we truly need a wife and will provide the right one just as He did for Adam. Therefore, we should rely on Him and not worry a virtuous wife comes only from the Lord.
