Who Are the Giants in Genesis 6:4?
The giants mentioned in Genesis 6:4 were not ordinary human beings. They did not look or function like normal humans as we know them today.
Bro. Eli explains that science recognizes a condition called gigantism, which can be hereditary or caused by the excessive production of growth hormones from the pituitary gland. Individuals with this condition grow very tall, but their muscles are often weak, and they usually face serious health challenges.
However, the giants described in Genesis 6:4 were very different. The scripture says:
“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also afterward, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”
This verse shows that biblical giants were not weak or sickly like scientific cases of gigantism. Instead, they were powerful, strong, and famous known as mighty men of old. This makes them completely different from the medical condition we see in humans today.
Bro. Eli highlights the difference between scientific giants and the giants in the Bible. According to him, medical gigantism results in physical weakness, while the giants described in scripture were strong and notable figures.
