I’m still new to Hive Naija in the sense of making post but I joined the community about a month ago (which in a way still translates to being new) and this is my first time posting in the community. I came across Sam’s Hangout, early this morning and I stopped to think about the ways I can contribute in it by engaging its daily challenge, interacting, and just trying it out.
From what I’ve seen so far, it’s a space where people share about friends, family, and those memorable hangout moments that make life beautiful.
When I look back, I can’t say I’ve had too many hangouts to draw from, but I do have a few that stand out in memory. For me, the most memorable ones were those times when conversations went deeper than the surface, where we laughed, and even got to see life from a new perspective. I believe that’s what makes a hangout truly unforgettable: not just the fun, but the connections and lessons that come with it.
Joining the Sam’s Hangout Discord was another pleasant surprise. Honestly, it’s the first Hive-related Discord I’ve been able to join successfully. Every other time I tried with different communities, I kept getting “expired link” messages and started wondering if maybe my phone was the problem. But this time, it worked smoothly, and I really commend your diligence in keeping the links up to date and functional. Right after joining, I was met with kind welcome messages that made me feel at home immediately.
I can’t say I’ve brought anyone into the hangout yet, but I hope to change that soon. I believe communities like this grow stronger when we share the experience with others, and I’m looking forward to introducing people once I’ve fully settled in.
As for Sam’s Hangout itself, from the few posts I’ve read, I think it’s a really great initiative. It feels like a safe corner to unwind, express yourself freely, and learn from others’ experiences. I don’t fully know everything the space has to offer yet, but one thing I know is that I learn best by doing. So, I’m taking this bold step to contribute, engage, and discover along the way.
Has it made my Hive experience better? Honestly, I believe it will. Already, I feel less like an outsider and more like someone who belongs here. That’s a big step if you ask me.
Overall, I’d say I’m still new here, friendly, very open to learning, and eager to contribute in ways that align with my values. I look forward to connecting with people, and of course, enjoying more memorable hangouts together.
