Hoy les voy a compartir lo que ha sucedido en mi recuperación tras una operación oftalmológica. Más que relatar lo que ocurre día a día, me gustaría ofrecerles información sobre mi experiencia y cómo ha sido la recuperación después de aproximadamente un mes del acto quirúrgico.

En mi publicación anterior, compartí hasta el cuarto día posterior a la cirugía, donde hice una secuencia fotográfica que muestra progresivamente la mejoría y el cese del enrojecimiento e inflamación en ambos ojos. Es importante destacar que la recuperación varía según el paciente y que las orientaciones del oftalmólogo son bastante claras, ya que cada cirugía tiene su nivel de complejidad. Después del cuarto día, mi recuperación comenzó a acelerarse; me sentía mucho mejor, la hipertensión empezó a estabilizarse por completo y mi angustia por el color de mi ojo fue desapareciendo. Sentir nervios en esta parte es bastante normal. Después de hablar con el médico tratante, me sentí un poco más tranquila y continué con el tratamiento, que me recordó las precauciones y cuidados que debía seguir durante varias semanas.
>In my previous publication, I shared up to the fourth day after surgery, where I made a photographic sequence that progressively shows the improvement and the cessation of redness and inflammation in both eyes. It is important to note that recovery varies from patient to patient and that the ophthalmologist's guidelines are quite clear, as each surgery has its level of complexity. After the fourth day, my recovery began to accelerate; I felt much better, my hypertension began to stabilize completely and my anxiety about the color of my eye was disappearing. Feeling nervous at this part is quite normal. After talking to the treating physician, I felt a little calmer and continued with the treatment, which reminded me of the precautions and care I had to follow for several weeks.
Quienes me conocen saben que soy una persona muy activa, tanto en lo laboral como en mi vida cotidiana. Trabajo prácticamente desde la mañana hasta la tarde-noche, y mantener reposo resulta difícil. Además, generar ingresos en Venezuela implica trabajar activamente.
Después de la cirugía, era normal tener secreción con color rojo o sangre y los ojos rojos; sin embargo, al transcurrir dos días, comprendí que esto iría disminuyendo. Después del cuarto día, esto efectivamente sucedió, y hasta la actualidad, el avance ha sido progresivo. Olvidé mencionar en mis publicaciones que la visión borrosa, la visión doble y la baja visión estuvieron presentes los primeros días tras la operación. Aunque la visión doble persiste en menor grado, el médico me indicó que disminuirá con el tiempo, permitiendo la alineación de los objetos. Mi condición se llama exotropía intermitente, es decir, la desviación de uno o ambos ojos hacia afuera, lo que afecta el enfoque adecuado de los objetos.

>After the surgery, it was normal to have red or bloody discharge and red eyes; however, after two days, I understood that this would decrease. After the fourth day, this indeed happened, and to this day, the progress has been progressive. I forgot to mention in my publications that blurred vision, double vision and low vision were present the first few days after surgery. Although the double vision persists to a lesser degree, the doctor indicated to me that it will diminish with time, allowing alignment of objects. My condition is called intermittent exotropia, i.e., the outward deviation of one or both eyes, which affects the proper focusing of objects.
Las recomendaciones del especialista tras la cirugía fueron varias:
1. No bañarme en piscina ni en la playa para evitar infecciones.
2. No exponerse prolongadamente al sol; se deben usar lentes oscuros que protejan la vista.
3. Proteger los ojos del polvo y la suciedad.
4. Mantener siempre la higiene y el aseo en el rostro.
5. No usar gotas de fabricación artesanal, ya que pueden perjudicar la visión.
6. Evitar el uso prolongado del teléfono celular o de pantallas.
7. Cumplir con el tratamiento asignado, respetando los días estipulados y no excediéndome.
8. Tener el descanso necesario.
9. Realizar cambios de claridad y oscuridad; la exposición prolongada a la luz puede afectar o irritar la vista.
10. No frotar los ojos en ningún momento, ya que puede causar infecciones e irritación.
11. No usar maquillaje durante los primeros dos meses.
12. Cumplir con el reposo indicado.
13. Usar en todo momento los lentes correctivos.
>The specialist's recommendations after the surgery were several:
1. Not to bathe in the swimming pool or at the beach to avoid infections.
2. Do not expose yourself to the sun for a long period of time; you should wear dark glasses to protect your eyesight.
3. To protect the eyes from dust and dirt.
4. Always keep your face clean and hygienic.
5. Do not use handmade eye drops, as they may impair vision.
6. Avoid prolonged use of cell phones or screens.
7. Comply with the assigned treatment, respecting the stipulated days and not exceeding them.
8. To have the necessary rest.
9. To make light and dark changes; prolonged exposure to light can affect or irritate the eyesight.
10. Do not rub the eyes at any time, as it may cause infections and irritation.
11. Do not wear makeup for the first two months.
12. Comply with the indicated rest.
13. Wear corrective lenses at all times.
Quiero aclarar a todos mis lectores que mi intención al publicar este proceso quirúrgico es meramente informativa, ya que esta condición es bastante común en la población y muchas personas aún temen a una operación. También quiero dejar constancia de que es un procedimiento ambulatorio; el dolor es tolerable y, si deseas mejorar tu visión y tu estética, te lo recomiendo. Asegúrate de ubicar a los mejores especialistas en el área de estrabismo y exotropía para llevar a cabo la operación.
Actualmente, me siento feliz y agradecida con Dios por haberme dado la oportunidad de realizar esta operación después de tantos años. He sido afortunada al poder disfrutar de este beneficio y de buena salud. La recuperación va muy bien; estoy cumpliendo cada una de las recomendaciones y espero estar totalmente recuperada en unas semanas.
