My friend has the most beautiful tree in his garden.
His house and garden is situated high on a hill over-looking the village of Wirksworth.
The branches grow in the most beautiful and fantastic patterns, creating amazing negative space between them.
The tree is a twisted Hazel and produces lovely Hazel nuts each year. It is also provides a great place to hang a bird feeder!

Genus: Corylus are deciduous trees and large shrubs with broad leaves, and showy male catkins in early spring, followed by edible nuts
Details: 'Contorta' is a large deciduous shrub with highly contorted and twisted branches bearing broadly ovate leaves and pendent yellow male catkins in late winter and early spring; useful for winter flower arrangements
