Hello everyone in holozing community, how are you all today? I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Once again i decided to take a little break from my usual portrait paintings and made a drawing of an animal. What better excuse to draw xolobis from holozing.
This is the final drawing:
Below are some process shots and some short description of the process.
Process:
At first i start with a loose sketch. i divided the head into two separate parts, on for the mouth part that looks like a modified rectangle and the head that is a modified circle. i used those shapes and combined them together to form the whole head.
Instead of using a brush to color at the beginning i used the lasso tool to select the area and then fill it with a blue grey color. xolobis has a much darker color but i wanted to make it a bit more colorful and furry.
i quickly put down all the different colors that it has throughout its body. like the yellow the blue and a bit of red in its ear.
I used a new layer with multiply more to form all the shadow area, that immediately gave the drawing a bit 3d look. I used the soft round brush for this one. then i merged the layer with the original one.
Then i started to make the colors look furry. for that i used a blending brush and started blending all around its body. with every pull of the blending brush the drawing looked more and more fur like.
after i finished the fur drawing which took the longest of time, i deepend all the colors and made them more saturated. had a bit of fun with the ear. and the final drawing was made.
