In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Medium from the argentine legendary artist Gustavo Cerati.
Coqueta: Grupo Frontera & Fuerza Regida
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Coqueta from the mexican band Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida.
The other day I was pretty bored, so I started looking at some memes on Instagram, as I often do from time to time. I kept seeing an AI-generated video performing a song by a band that had become quite well known for one of their new songs.
The video was a female “anime” version of the song Coqueta by the Mexican band Grupo Frontera, featuring a girl band performed by a female AI voice that has become quite popular recently. At first, it didn't catch my attention, but after hearing it so often on Instagram, the song ended up sticking in my head.
The funny thing is that this AI-generated version with a female voice is, in my opinion, much better than the original version released by Grupo Frontera and another group called Fuerza Regida. It's not the only song that has been made with AI; they have also created AI interpretations of other songs by these groups. My favorite ended up being Coqueta, which is why I decided to include it in my post.

Grupo Frontera is a band that produces Mexican music but was originally founded in Texas, United States. It is made up of vocalist Adeilado Solis III, accordionist Juan Javier Cantú, percussionist Julian Peña Jr., bassist Alberto Acosta, and drummer Carlos Guerrero.
In 2022, they began playing their music at events such as parties and weddings, without expecting to end up becoming a well-known band. What really catapulted the group to fame was when they did a cover of a song called “No se va” by Morat, which went viral on social media and gave them the recognition they needed. They also gained great recognition after collaborating with the band Fuerza Regida on “Bebe Dame.” Since then, they have begun collaborating with major Latin American artists such as Bad Bunny, Maluma, and Shakira.
True success throughout Latin America would come with the release of their song “Coqueta,” in which they collaborated again with the group Fuerza Regida. This song became really famous, as several videos of female AI performances of this song in anime version went viral on social media. And thanks to this, their music reached many new listeners in South America, where the band was previously unknown.
