In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is The Ballad of Heinsenberg from the mexican band Los Cuates de Sinaloa.
Radiosong: Superbus
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Radiosong from the band Superbus.
The other day, when I was talking about one of my favorite international rock songs, “I Was Made for Lovin' You” by the legendary band Kiss, I realized that I had first heard it in one of the most iconic games of my childhood: Guitar Hero III - Legends of Rock.
So I started looking for Spotify playlists that contain the most iconic songs that have appeared throughout the video game. I realized that all the songs selected by the video game are great. Thanks to this, I've discovered great songs like Barracuda by Heart, Slow Ride by Foghat, Mississippi Queen by Mountain, Hit Me With Your Best Shot by Pat Benatar, Sunshine of Your Love by Cream, When You Were Young by The Killers, Same Old Song and Dance by Aerosmith, Avalancha by Los Heroes del Silencio, Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones, and the song I've selected for today: Radiosong by Superbus.
It's incredible that the developers had such good taste in selecting the music that appears in the video game, as all the songs you can “play” have a creative and artistic level that is out of this world. I've discovered songs that I probably would never have come across otherwise, since I was born in a different era. Beyond some well-known bands like The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses, and Aerosmith, one rarely gets to know other bands from that generation with really good music.
Radiosong by Superbus is one of my favorite songs featured in the video game. It has a very pop vibe, but still retains elements of rock ‘n’ roll. Until I heard it in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, I had no idea that the band Superbus existed. It's one of the songs I've listened to the most these days, so I wanted to share it with you.
Superbus is a French pop-rock band formed in 1999 by vocalist Jenn Ayache, guitarist Patrice Focone, guitarist Michel Giovanetti, and bassist Francois Even. They released their first album three years after their formation, titled Aeromusical. It was not a very successful album, but it did manage to garner some national success for them.
True success would come two years later with their second studio album, Pop'n'Gum. This album included big hits such as Radio Song—featured in Guitar Hero 3—, Pop'n'Gum and Sunshine. This album became even more famous a few years later with the release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in 2007, which included it as one of its main songs.
