Rising Star - My Daily song choice, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - Cosas Imposibles: Gustavo Cerati

In this space, I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting facts about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics from the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is BZRP Sessions Vol 39: of the artists Bizarrap and Snow Tha Product.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Cosas Imposibles of the legendary artist Gustavo Cerati.

A few years ago, I was chatting on Discord with a friend who I used to play Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Multiplayer (SAMP) with. We used to play in Roleplay mode, where each of us played a character in a “real” world, with jobs, relationships, and many other things.

The thing is, my friend's nickname was “Siempre es hoy” (It's always today), which made me curious, so I asked him why he chose that name. He explained that it was his favorite album by one of the most iconic artists in Argentine history: Gustavo Cerati.

I was already familiar with the artist, but mostly because of his time with what was the most popular rock band in Argentina: Soda Stereo. Even people who weren't into the genre knew most of the songs by this iconic group. However, I had never stopped to listen to his solo work, and my first real experience with it came thanks to that recommendation.

Siempre es Hoy became one of my favorite albums, as I love the instrumentals of the songs accompanied by Gustavo Cerati's beautiful voice. Among all his songs, I can highlight my favorite, Cosas Imposibles, along with others such as No Te Creo, Artefacto, Naci Para Esto, Tu Cicatriz En Mi, Vivo, and Sudestada. Thanks to listening to this album, I ended up finding out more about his solo career and discovering many songs that I still listen to today.

Gustavo Cerati is one of the most important musicians in the history of Spanish rock. He began his career in a band he formed with his friends called Soda Stereo. This band was a huge success and broke all records for album sales.

A few years after this success, Gustavo Cerati decided to leave the band and devote himself entirely to his solo career. In 1999, he released the album Bocanada, which maintained Cerati's status as one of the most important artists of the moment.

However, absolute success would come in 2002 with the release of Siempre es Hoy, an album that included iconic songs that, to this day, continue to resonate strongly.
