In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Ahora Mirame from the argentine artist Ulises Bueno.
Rompecabezas de Amor: Las Pastillas del Abuelo
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Rompecabezas de Amor from the argentine rock band Las Pastillas del Abuelo.
After featuring a very popular Argentine genre in my last two posts, I'm going to bring you more songs from my country, but this time from an even more popular genre: rock. For as long as I can remember, I've been surrounded by rock music from the 80s, 90s, and 00s, thanks to the influence of my family, who have always been big rock fans. Despite that influence, I listened to that music very casually on the radio or on a speaker my mother had, but I wasn't that into it.
Back then, it was quite difficult to get music on any device, especially for a kid. But everything changed when I reached my teens, which coincided with the launch of one of the platforms I use most today: Spotify. Thanks to the playlists created by the Spotify team, I was able to discover many rock songs from recent years and start learning about more bands such as Attaque 77, Los Piojos, Intoxicados, and many more.
But there is one band that became one of my favorites among those that are still active, and I got to know them in a different way. During those years, I used to visit my father quite often and had to live with his other family, so I had become quite close to my stepbrother. I remember that on weekends, we used to go visit his cousin. On one of those visits, I was struck by the music he was listening to, which always seemed to be by the same artist, so I asked him about it and he introduced me to Las Pastillas del Abuelo.
Las Pastillas is one of those bands with a huge musical repertoire, and most of their work is always of very high quality. It's no lie when I say that I have more than fifty songs by the band in my Spotify “likes.” They have a variety of songs that talk about various topics such as love, soccer, and many other controversial issues. That's why they have become my favorite active band, along with Ciro y los Persas.

Las Pastillas del Abuelo is an Argentine rock band formed in 2000. The group consisted of vocalist Piti Fernandez, guitarist Diego Bozzala, guitarist Fernando Vecchio, keyboardist Santiago Willi, drummer Juan Comas, trumpeter Seba Barilari, keyboardist Alejandro Mondelo, and harmonica player Juancho Gaspari. One of the things I like most about the group is that it uses a wide variety of instruments, which gives its music a unique touch.
They are one of the few bands from that era that are still active, managing to stay relevant and winning the affection of the public thanks to the beautiful songs they have released.
