In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Pácifico (Sinfonico) from the argentine band Ciro y Los Persas.
Tha Shiznit: Snoop Dogg
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Tha Shiznit from the legendary hip-hop artist Snoop "Snoppy" Dogg.
One of the American artists I am most fond of is Snoop Dogg. He was one of the first artists I discovered in the hip-hop genre, and thanks to him, I have discovered countless rappers that I would not have known otherwise. Although I don't consider him to be one of the top three rappers, I do consider him to be the most important celebrity in the history of rap, as he transcends the genre.
My first experience with Snoop came during my teenage years, when I started playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas in its multiplayer format (SAMP). At that time, I was playing Roleplay, so we were supposed to play a character from society. I remember that at that time it was very fashionable to play gang members, so we were playing a gang like the Crips. When we were bored, they used to play music that a rapper of that time would listen to, inevitably falling on one of the most important artists of the genre: Snoop Dogg.
After that, I remember watching a comedy movie made about Snoop Dogg. I don't remember much about it, except for the scene where Snoopy smokes a giant joint and collaborates with the artist Bruno Mars on a song called Young, Wild and Free, which I loved.
Despite all those experiences, at that time I wasn't that into gangsta rap, so I ended up not listening to the artist for many years. It was only after watching N.W.A (Straight Outta Compton), which tells the story of a legendary band formed by Ice Cube, MC Ren, Dr. Dre, and DJ Yella, that I regained my interest. I became an absolute fan of Dr. Dre, and if there is one artist who took his first steps as a solo artist, it was Snoop Dogg.

In fact, Snoop Dogg's first album was produced by Dr. Dre and released by the record label Andre was working for at the time: the infamous Death Row Records. Doggystyle was released in 1993 and, from its early days, became a resounding success. The album featured Snoop's first hits and those that would catapult him to become a hip-hop legend, such as Gin and Juice, Who Am I, Ain't No Fun, Murder Was The Case, and my choice for today: Tha Shiznit.
