Good evening everyone!
In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Bajan of the legendary argentine artist Gustavo Cerati.
The Lucky One: Laura Branigan
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is The Lucky One of the american artist Laura Branigan.
A few years ago, I was platinum-trolling some PlayStation games that I had acquired for free thanks to PlayStation Plus. I had found the definitive Grand Theft Auto trilogy, and I had already platinum-trolled the standard version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Anyway, I platinumed GTA San Andreas again in this new version, so all that was left was to complete Vice City and GTA 3 for the first time.
I started with GTA III, one of the most revolutionary titles in the industry for having made the leap to 3D. However, in my opinion, its story is quite mediocre and the gaming experience ends up being a bit boring. That's why I decided to move on to Vice City, where I managed to complete the game 100% and also enjoyed its story much more.
If there's one thing I have to highlight about Vice City, it's its soundtrack, one of the best I remember in a video game. Among all the songs, there were two that marked a turning point for me: “I Just Died in Your Arms” by Cutting Crew and “Self Control” by Laura Branigan.
I discovered who would become one of my favorite artists of the time when I realized that she was the artist who had created the super-famous songs Gloria, Power of Love, Forever Young, Spanish Eddie, Ti Amo, and The Lucky One.

Laura Branigan is an Italian-American artist who began her music career in the late 1970s. She achieved success after releasing one of the most iconic songs in music history: Gloria (who hasn't heard this song at least once in their life?). She also had other hits such as Self Control and The Lucky One.
Many of the artist's hits are covers of other songs that were perhaps not as well known, such as Forever Young, Ti Amo, and Power of Love. However, one of her most notable achievements was “The Lucky One,” as it was not a cover, but a song composed and performed by her.
