Good evening everyone!
In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Coqueta from the bands Grupo Frontera and Fuerza Regida.
When You Were Young: The Killers
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is When You Were Young from the iconic band The Killers.
For today's post, I wanted to share another example of how video games can be a powerful tool for spreading knowledge, culture, and music among those who play them. In video game series such as Age of Empires and Crusader Kings III, I have ended up learning a lot about one of the things I am most passionate about: history.
In terms of music, I can talk about the Fallout series, which has a great soundtrack with a variety of jazz and country songs from the 50s and 60s that perfectly complement the atmosphere the game wants to convey. Then we have other games that create their own soundtracks and do a spectacular job, such as The Witcher, Bloodborne, and Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Among this group of games that greatly influenced my musical choices, I can mention one that is directly inspired by rock ‘n’ roll bands: Guitar Hero. I remember that after buying me a PlayStation 2, my mother got me a game that was very popular at the time: Guitar Hero III.
The truth is that I ended up loving the game, and it opened the door for me to listen to several international rock bands for the first time when I wasn't even a teenager. One of the songs I ended up enjoying the most in the game is When You Were Young by The Killers, which is why I've included it in today's post.

The Killers are a well-known American band, founded in 2001 by vocalist and keyboardist Brandon Flowers and guitarist Dave Keuning. Later, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. joined the band.
The band's debut album was released about three years after its founding. It was titled Hot Fuss and achieved great success nationally, entering the top 10 most listened to songs in their country.
Their second album, titled Sam's Town and released two years later, also achieved tremendous national success, featuring several famous songs such as When You Were Young, Sam's Town, For Reasons Unknown, Bones, and Read My Mind. Thanks to this, they were able to establish themselves as one of the most important bands of their time.
