In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Té para tres from the legendary artists Luis Alberto Spinneta and Gustavo Cerati.
Where The Hood At: DMX
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Where The Hood At from the hip-hop artist DMX.
Since my teenage years, I have always had a great love for hip-hop. I started listening to it while playing with friends in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas multiplayer mode, where we were playing as a US gang called the Crips. While playing that role, we would occasionally listen to music that members of those gangs actually listened to at the time: good old-school hip-hop.
After that experience, I honestly lost track of the genre a bit. It wasn't until the launch of Spotify and my teenage years that I got back into it a bit, acquiring new songs by artists like Ludacris, Ice Cube, and Snoop Dogg. Around that time, I remember that Grand Theft Auto V Online had just come out, so I was totally hooked on that game mode. It also coincided with the rise of one of the most widely used platforms in the world today: YouTube.
I had a few favorite YouTubers that I watched at the time, and one of them had a song in the intro of each video that caught my attention: Where The Hood At by the artist DMX. I remember wanting to know what the song was for a long time because I loved it, but back then there were no tools like Shazam.
I just discovered this song after searching for the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack, where I ended up finding Where The Hood At. I think I spent a few days listening to this song all the time because I just loved it.

Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, is a hip-hop artist from the east coast of the United States. From an early age, DMX grew up in an environment marked by abuse, spending much of his childhood in foster homes and surviving on the streets. There he found refuge in stray dogs, which became his inseparable companions. From that connection came his name or stage name: DMX (Dog Man X).
In 1991, he landed his first contract with Ruffhouse Records, where he released his first single, Born Loser. Born Loser was a moderate success, but it allowed him to continue in the music industry.
True national success came with the release of the album Get at Me Dog in 1998. This album featured several hits such as Ruff Ryders Anthem, Get At Me Dog, and Stop Being Greedy, which allowed DMX to make a name for himself in the music industry.
Where The Hood At was released in 2003 for the album Grand Champ. This was one of the biggest hits of his career and featured in several games, such as the Grand Theft Auto series.
