Democracy day what do I have to say about this it just keeps me puzzled cause my reason or thoughts on this is that it's all rigged and corrupt in my country.

I remember during our primary school we were being taught that democracy is government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Correct me if I'm wrong then I do believe democracy is something we had good government leading us to a better future and not only that I'm always excited when we want to celebrate Democracy Day. I'm always happy on June 12 that's my reason to believe then I do tell my dad to turn on the television let's watch TV then.

But as I grew up it began to crash towards me all my beliefs of democracy day. The reality of democracy in Nigeria is nothing more than a disillusionment. Instead of practicing how to help the country it has become a place for bribing and corruption now. We can't even rely on the government for our well-being every man has to hustle his own money in whatever ways they can.

In reality, now democracy is not helping the people anymore now cause of my reason if we look back to the election. Elections are supposed to be a foundation of democratic governance where by we elect the right person to lead us into a better future. But in my country whenever it time for election they buy vote to put their personal interest someone can't come outside to vote for is favorite candidate without getting killed.

We citizen dont believe on our vote count anymore the past election can explain the t much. How someone get in power now is not by vote now is by your campaign in power, wealth ability to manipulate the system.

Corruption has eaten wide now public office seem less to serve instead as an opportunity to filled ones own pocket. we vote for a better road, better hospitals, better clean water but we get none instead they find means of taxing more from citizen to full their pockets.

Let talk about the youth now we can't even have a stable opportunity of getting a better job in my country so many have left the country because of this and move to another man land someone even went into stealing to feed family their so much more family perishing lack of hunger even if someone has big dream be live that will crush in nigeria.

If been asked it has not being any hell lately instead the situation of it keep getting worst and we still pray for a better leader to save us from this.

In conclusion democracy has failed to meet the needs of his people because of corruption and greediness. To overcome this am not saying I have a better idea but a suggestion until we build a system that prioritizes accountability over personal gain, if not the masses we continue to suffer if we can look the needs of rather than our own pocket I believe the country can move forward.
