Another day, another coin. We are moving on to something that is totally my cup of tea, namely Germany, or more precisely, the period before reunification. It will be a coin from a country that was said to be ‘not a country with soldiers, but soldiers with a country’. I am, of course, talking about Prussia, which unified Germany and caused a big problem for the rest of Europe for a long time. I invite you to take a look at today's coin:

My copy comes from Berlin, as indicated by the mint mark ‘A’ under the ruler's bust. Unfortunately, it is the most popular mint from that year, which naturally means that the price is lower. These coins were also minted in Wrocław and Frankfurt. The coin looks beautiful and dignified, and nothing is missing. The details are very accurate, which only adds to its gravitas. I like it very much and I regret that it is so difficult to collect the entire Prussian circulation collection, because I would take everything as it comes. On the reverse of the vereinsthaler, we see the coat of arms of Prussia, i.e. a majestic eagle with an imperial crown on its head and outstretched wings, holding a sceptre and a sword in its claws. The legend ‘EIN VEREINSTHALER XXX EIN PFUND FEIN’ is stamped on the rim, which means ‘One vereinsthaler, thirty pieces of one mark of pure silver’, indicating the weight and fineness standard in force in the German Confederation. The obverse shows a bust of Wilhelm I, King of Prussia, facing right, with the inscription ‘WILHELM KOENIG VON PREUSSEN’ on the edge. Wilhelm I was King of Prussia and the first German Emperor. During his reign, Germany was unified and the office was established. He was a conservative and a militarist. He was not outstanding, but he was reliable, like all Prussian rulers (except perhaps the last emperor and his grandson Wilhelm II).

Kolejny dzień, to kolejna moneta. Przechodzimy na totalnie moje klimaty czyli Niemcy, a dokładniej czas przed zjednoczeniem. Będzie to moneta z państwa o którym mówiono, że "nie jest to państwo z żołnierzami, a żołnierze z państwem". Mowa oczywiście o Prusach, które to Niemcy zjednoczyły i zrobiły duży problem reszcie Europy na długi czas. Zapraszam do zapoznania się z dzisiejszą monetą:

Mój egzemplarz pochodzi z Berlina, a przemawia za tym znak menniczy "A" pod popiersiem władcy. Niestety jest to najbardziej popularna mennica z tego roku, przez co naturalnie cena jest niższa. Krążki te były bite jeszcze we Wrocławiu oraz Frankfurcie. Moneta prezentuje się pięknie, dostojnie i niczego jej nie brakuje. Detale są bardzo dokładne, co tylko dodaje powagi. Bardzo mi się podoba i żałuję, że zebranie całej kolekcji obiegowej pruskiej jest takie trudne, bo brałbym wszystko jak leci. Na rewersie vereinsthalera widzimy herb Prus, czyli majestatycznego orła z koroną cesarską na głowie i rozpostartymi skrzydłami, w szponach trzymającego berło oraz miecz. W otoku wybito legendę „EIN VEREINSTHALER XXX EIN PFUND FEIN”, co oznacza „Jeden vereinsthaler, trzydzieści sztuk z jednej marki czystego srebra”, wskazując na standard wagowo-próbowy obowiązujący w Związku Niemieckim. Awers przedstawia popiersie Wilhelma I, króla Prus, zwrócone w prawo, z napisem w otoku „WILHELM KOENIG VON PREUSSEN”. Wilhelm I był królem Prus i pierwszym cesarzem niemieckim, za jego panowania Niemcy się zjednoczyły, a urząd powstał. Był konserwatystą i militarystą. Nie był wybitny, ale był solidny, w sumie jak wszyscy pruscy władcy (może poza ostatnim cesarzem i jego wnukiem Wilhelmem II).
