For a very good reason the planting of crops is always attached with the aim and objective of giving the best in terms of food quality and food quantity to the community. Before I even think of planting any type of crop I always put everything in my shoes financially. In the sense that how much more will it cost me to produce a particular food stuff and to put them in the market for sale. Either the seed, the raw food itself. I always emphasize that putting all the possible effort will always pay someday. I also learned that there are so many determinations we need to put on as individual farmers. Crops such as potato will always showcase it advance crawling ability. This calling ability will always give rise to more production.
That is why some farmers love to cultivate potatoes. Even when the leaves or the vine, Is crawling from one position to another it always give more support to it production. When you see the potato vine crawling to another section of the farm if time permit and you leave it, you see that in the next few months you also harvest potato in that particular section of the farm. Which means that there is no wastage planting or cultivating potato as a farmer because anywhere it Crosses, that it will always produce either small or more big tubers. So there is no time to waste.
This is our own potato farm and it has been a very good source of food because year in and year out it produces although it is not in a very large quantity but as time goes on I'm also going to appreciate more. So it is a very good source of natural nutrients as well. I took some pictures when I got to the farm to show us how healthy they are at the moment with the rate at which the rain is falling. Although for some other crops it is not needed as such. I mean rainfall. Crops like the tomatoes 🍅🍒 and even pepper 🌶️🌶️.
- I will also tell you that what you need to plant and potato is not a very much seed or Vine. Just a few inches of divine can be cut into smaller pieces and you plant them like that. It will give you a very good and moderate plant movement which we show you that it highly supportive with the kind of soil you have.
When the rain is too much it will also affect potato because even when it grow more tubers in the soil. It may start rotten or to get spoilt. So there is a limit to which rainfall is needed in agriculture. There are some crops that is highly supportive to a very much rainfall pattern.
All I am saying is that it is good to practicalize planting of different crops because it will show you more visual ways to follow and path. Sometimes when I cultivate crops I always give a lot of audience to the response because, some response in agriculture is not immediately it will take a very long. Of time like 3 months or more. Whereas in some other crops it will be instant. When it is not growing with so well it will show to the face. Crops like potatoes can be more pretending. This is because even when it is not doing great the green leaves we always come out this way.
The more the leaves grow the earlier the better in potato farming. I also observe that when you want to weed your potato farm you must uproot slowly and slightly. This is because it will give you more engagement on the farm to be more attached to the potato crop just like any other crops. But if you are a farmer that does not really count things you will shift the already growing up tubers from the soil and it will start all over again in production.
Like I always emphasize that as the Farmer of any type of crop you need to be observant. That is the first thing also you need to always keep your records so that even when there is a slight change in the soil or the goods and development of any crop within few days you will absolutely recognize and fill up the space.
