¡Hola mis queridos Hivers! Esta semana ha tenido unos cuantos días pesados y en medio de todo el caos, sentí una profunda necesidad de dibujar, así, a tradicional, con lápiz y tinta, hacía mucho que no me tomaba un tiempo para dibujar y realmente me fue tan satisfactorio hacerlo. Las creaturas fantásticas me encantan y las hadas siempre han sido de mis favoritas, por lo que hoy, quiero mostrarles mi nuevo dibujo de un hada del bosque. Hello, my dear Hivers! This week has been quite challenging, and amid all the chaos, I felt a deep need to draw, the traditional way, with pencil and ink. It had been a long time since I had taken the time to draw, and it was truly satisfying to do so. I love fantastical creatures, and fairies have always been among my favorites, so today I want to show you my new drawing of a forest fairy. ### Procedimiento:
La figura central de mi dibujo es el hada del bosque, por lo que inicio con un boceto de la misma. He decidido colocarla de perfil para poder resaltar sus alas, así que hago algunos trazos con un lápiz de grafito muy claro, posicionando un poco el cuerpo para así tener una idea de sus dimensiones y el espacio que ocupará, una vez definida su posición, comienzo a dar detalles sobre su cuerpo, luego de sus ropas y calzado y finalmente las facciones de su rostro, orejas puntiagudas, cabello y por supuesto las alas.

### Procedure:
The central figure in my drawing is the forest fairy, so I start with a sketch of her. I have decided to place her in profile to highlight her wings, so I make a few strokes with a very light graphite pencil, positioning her body slightly to get an idea of her dimensions and the space she will occupy. Once her position is defined, I begin to add details to her body, then her clothes and shoes, and finally her facial features, pointed ears, hair, and of course her wings.

Boceto / Sketch
Con el boceto de mi personaje terminado, ha llegado el momento de entintar, para ello empleo un marcador Sharpie de punta ultrafina, repasando las líneas definitivas y siendo especialmente cuidadosa con las figuras pequeñas, como las flores de su cabello o el colgante de flor tipo campanilla del arete del hada.

With the sketch of my character finished, it's time to ink it. To do this, I use an ultra-fine tip Sharpie marker, going over the final lines and being especially careful with small figures, such as the flowers in her hair or the bell-shaped flower pendant on the fairy's earring.

Entintado / Inking
Lo siguiente será llenar el vacío alrededor, como es un hada del bosque he decidido complementar con mucha vegetación, ramas, flores, setas y hojas, de distintos tamaños y formas. He querido que quede como un contorno o margen, como si se le observara al hada desde lejos a través de un “agujero” entre la naturaleza que la rodea. Para esta parte también realicé un boceto a lápiz (el lápiz de grafito claro que he usado al comienzo), pero luego necesité un poco más de definición en mis trazos, por lo que los definí con un lápiz de grafito un poco más oscuro.

The next step is to fill in the space around her. Since she is a forest fairy, I decided to add lots of vegetation, branches, flowers, mushrooms, and leaves of different sizes and shapes. I wanted it to look like an outline or border, as if the fairy were being observed from afar through a “hole” in the surrounding nature. For this part, I also made a pencil sketch (using the light graphite pencil I used at the beginning), but then I needed a little more definition in my lines, so I defined them with a slightly darker graphite pencil.

Las alas son un elemento muy importante de mi dibujo, además de que para mí tienen cierto concepto, en el mundo fantástico de Mavilan (risas), las hadas del bosque poseen alas de insecto, también hay hadas con alas emplumadas, pero esas no serían las que se encargan directamente del cuidado de la naturaleza; en fin, una vez más he tomado el lápiz de grafito claro y tracé las venas de las alas, luego, el patrón característico de las alas, para no confundirme, fui entintando a medida que iba avanzando con el boceto a lápiz.

Wings are a very important element in my drawing, and they also have a certain meaning for me. In the fantasy world of Mavilan (laughs), forest fairies have insect wings, and there are also fairies with feathered wings, but those are not the ones directly responsible for caring for nature. Anyway, once again I took the light graphite pencil and traced the veins of the wings, then the characteristic pattern of the wings. To avoid confusion, I inked as I progressed with the pencil sketch.

Alas / Wings
Ha llegado el momento del sombreado y las texturas, en este punto agrego algo de oscuridad con el mismo marcador de punta ultrafina, así como también líneas que aporten movimiento y pliegues al vestido del hada. También me permite el sombreado realzar los detalles de la trenza del cabello o las flores en él.

Now it's time for shading and textures. At this point, I add some darkness with the same ultra-fine marker, as well as lines that add movement and folds to the fairy's dress. Shading also allows me to highlight the details of the braid in her hair or the flowers in it.
En el caso de las ramas he agregado sombras en las uniones retorcidas y aporté algo de textura con líneas de distinta longitud dentro del diseño, además, a las hojas también le he aportado sombras en las partes bajas y en las líneas de la vena, y por supuesto textura con algunos puntos sueltos en la superficie. Igualmente para las setas, algunas líneas y puntos marcan una gran diferencia.

In the case of the branches, I added shadows to the twisted joints and added some texture with lines of different lengths within the design. I also added shadows to the lower parts of the leaves and to the vein lines, and of course texture with some loose dots on the surface. Similarly, for the mushrooms, a few lines and dots make a big difference.

Vegetación / Vegetation
Un elemento que me encanta en este dibujo son las botas, para mí simboliza la disposición al trabajo duro, es decir, que esta es un hada delicada y femenina que no teme hacer lo necesario, su paso es firme y sin dudas. Alguien a quien siempre le muestro todas mis creaciones, me dijo que las botas representaban “modernidad”, esto me gustó mucho porque hace que las hadas estén en un tiempo presente y no solo como algo antiguo y olvidado. También me siento muy satisfecha con la trama que usé para las botas se ven interesantes. La falda tiene forma de flor tipo campanilla y la complementé con una tela transparente que cae desde la parte interna de la falda principal.

One element I love in this drawing is the boots. For me, they symbolize a willingness to work hard, meaning that this is a delicate and feminine fairy who is not afraid to do what is necessary. Her step is firm and unwavering. Someone I always show all my creations to told me that the boots represented “modernity.” I really liked this because it brings fairies into the present and not just as something ancient and forgotten. I am also very satisfied with the pattern I used for the boots; they look interesting. The skirt is shaped like a bellflower, and I complemented it with a transparent fabric that falls from the inside of the main skirt.
En el dibujo también pueden apreciarse distintos tipos de flores a las que les hice detalles pequeños que evitaran que se vieran planas y aburridas.
