Melancholy of the fairy (esp/eng)

¡Hola mis queridos Hivers! Las últimas semanas han estado llenas de distintas cosas en mi vida, unas que me han hecho muy feliz pero también les comentaba en mi publicación anterior que venía saliendo de un virus y la extracción de una cordal, por lo que no solo tenía un malestar general físico sino también a nivel emocional. Estuve buscando inspiración para hacer un nuevo dibujo y surgieron muchas ideas pero, no salía de mi mente la imagen de una chica de mirada melancólica, aún así no la veía con claridad, por lo que empecé a dibujar y ya pude definirla mejor. The last few weeks have been full of different things in my life, some that have made me very happy but I also told you in my previous post that I was coming out of a virus and the extraction of a wisdom tooth, so I not only had a general physical discomfort but also emotionally. I was looking for inspiration to make a new drawing and many ideas came up but, the image of a girl with a melancholic look did not leave my mind, even so I could not see her clearly, so I started to draw and I was able to define her better. Join me in this post so you can see the whole creative process.  _{Imagen creada por mí en Canva / Image created by me in Canva} Iniciamos con el boceto, para ello primero trazo un esqueleto, que en este caso no es más que el círculo donde irá ubicada la cabeza y el resto es para posicionar un poco el cuello, hombro y dorso, luego procedo a trazar un estimado de las facciones del rostro, la forma del cráneo y la parte visible de su cuerpo. > We start with the sketch, for this I first draw a skeleton, which in this case is only the circle where the head will be located and the rest is to position a little neck, shoulder and back, then I proceed to draw an estimate of the features of the face, the shape of the skull and the visible part of his body.  |  --- | --- _{Boceto / Sketch} Con esto listo, empiezo a hacer parte del line art, definiendo la parte frontal de mi personaje y luego en forma de boceto, dibujo lo que sería el cabello y el sombrero con sus detalles. Finalmente, hago las líneas definitivas para el resto del dibujo y agrego también una oreja puntiaguda de elfa. Hasta este punto me sentía confundida con la identidad de mi personaje, inicialmente pensé que era una bruja cuando la veía en mi imaginación debido a su enorme sombrero, pero al hacer su oreja puntiaguda y añadir esas rosas al sombrero, caí en cuenta de que se trataba de una nueva hada para mi pequeño universo de cuentos. Para finalizar el line art, añado su ojo y ceja. > With this ready, I start to make part of the line art, defining the front part of my character and then in sketch form, I draw what would be the hair and the hat with its details. Finally, I make the final lines for the rest of the drawing and I also add a pointed elf ear. Until this point I was confused about the identity of my character, initially I thought she was a witch when I saw her in my imagination because of her huge hat, but when I made her pointed ear and added those roses to the hat, I realized that she was a new fairy for my little fairy tale universe. To finish the line art, I add her eye and eyebrow.  |  --- | ---  |  --- | --- _{Line Art} La paleta de colores fue todo un tema para mí en este dibujo, ya que suelo usar colores muy pasteles y tiernos o alegres, pero recordemos que mi estado anímico era un poco melancólico, así que elegí colores claros para el rostro, ojos y cabello, pero oscuros para el sombrero y las rosas. Para el cabello usé un rubio miel apagado, los ojos un azul frío y en el traje y sombrero llegué a manejar la idea de color negro pero terminé con un marrón bastante sobrio. Las rosas en un rojo un tanto oscuro al igual que el verde las hojas, estos últimos, a pesar de ser colores oscuros le aportaron mucha vida al dibujo, hacen un contraste bonito con respecto al resto de colores. > The color palette was quite an issue for me in this drawing, as I usually use very pastel and tender or cheerful colors, but let's remember that my mood was a bit melancholic, so I chose light colors for the face, eyes and hair, but dark for the hat and the roses. For the hair I used a muted honey blonde, the eyes a cool blue and in the suit and hat I got to manage the idea of black but ended up with a rather sober brown. The roses in a somewhat dark red as well as the green leaves, the latter, despite being dark colors brought a lot of life to the drawing, they make a nice contrast with respect to the rest of the colors.  _{Colores base / Flat colors} Luego llegó el momento de hacer sombras y luces y los colores se aplicaron oscureciendo o aclarando los mismos colores base según fuera el caso. > Then it was time to make shadows and highlights and the colors were applied by darkening or lightening the same base colors as appropriate.  |  --- | --- _{Sombras y luces / Shades and lights} Para finalizar agregué toques de rubor rosado en las mejillas, barbilla, frente y orejas. También hice un fondo a base de degradados de azules y morados y di toques de blanco en forma de brillo tanto para el fondo como para el personaje en sí. > To finish I added touches of pink blush on the cheeks, chin, forehead and ears. I also made a background based on gradients of blues and purples and gave touches of white in the form of glitter for both the background and the character itself.  _{Resultado final / Final result} Estoy muy contenta con el resultado, siento que dentro de la melancolía del hada, su mirada está fija hacia el horizonte porque está anticipando que vienen nuevas cosas, así que más allá de ser un dibujo tal vez triste, creo que es esperanzador. > I am very happy with the result, I feel that within the melancholy of the fairy, her gaze is fixed towards the horizon because she is anticipating that new things are coming, so beyond being a sad drawing perhaps, I think it is hopeful.
