Uneven marbled earrings (esp/eng)

¡Hola mis queridos Hivers creativos! Luego de unos cuantos días un poco ausente he vuelto con energías recargadas y es que han sido días de recuperación, un pequeño virus y la extracción de una cordal (gracias a Dios la última que me quedaba), hoy quiero mostrarles unos hermosos aretes muy originales con un patrón marmoleado pero además con un diseño desigual. Originalmente no serían desiguales, pero un pequeño accidente me llevó a tomar esta decisión y que bueno, porque me encantó el resultado. After a few days a little absent I have returned with recharged energy and it has been days of recovery, a small virus and the extraction of a wisdom tooth (thank God the last one I had left), today I want to show you some beautiful and very original earrings with a marbled pattern but also with an uneven design. Originally they would not be unequal, but a little accident led me to take this decision and good thing, because I loved the result. Join me in the step by step to get inspired with this new creation.  _{Imagen creada por mí en Canva / Image created by me in Canva} ### Materiales: * Porcelana fría de distintos colores * Estecas * Dremel * 2 Alfileres * 2 Anzuelos * 2 Cristales transparentes * 1 Mostacilla transparente tornasol * Alicates de bisutería * Top coat * Lámpara UV/LED ### Procedimiento: Esta técnica es ideal para aprovechar los restos de porcelana fría de trabajos anteriores, así que es lo que he hecho, si se fijan en mis publicaciones más recientes, notarán que son restos del Harry Potter y el Labubu (risas) y eso es lo más mágico en este tipo de diseños, que son absolutamente diferentes de cualquier otro, jamás se repetirá el patrón. Por lo que iniciamos hidratando cada trocito de masa de cada color, yo lo hago aplicando un poco de agua con un pincel. Esto lo hacemos para recuperar su propiedad moldeable, ya que se ha endurecido un poco. >### Materials: > >* Cold porcelain of different colors >* Stamps >* Dremel >* 2 pins >* 2 hooks >* 2 transparent crystals >* 1 transparent iridescent clay >* Jewelry pliers >* Top coat >* UV/LED lamp > >### Procedure: > >This technique is ideal to take advantage of cold porcelain leftovers from previous works, so that is what I have done, if you look at my most recent publications, you will notice that they are leftovers from the Harry Potter and Labubu (laughs) and that is the most magical thing in this type of designs, which are absolutely different from any other, you will never repeat the pattern. So we start by hydrating each little piece of dough of each color, I do it by applying a little water with a brush. We do this to recover its moldable property, since it has hardened a little.  _{Hidratando / Hydrating} Con todas las masitas bien hidratadas, procedemos a formar cilindros de grosores similares. Como algunos restos son más grandes que otros, doblamos los cilindros más grandes, tratando de que tengan longitudes similares todas las secciones similares aunque sus anchos sean variables. Una vez posicionadas todas las porciones, rehidratamos una vez más de ser necesario. > With all the dough well hydrated, we proceed to form cylinders of similar thickness. As some leftovers are larger than others, we fold the larger cylinders, trying to have similar lengths in all similar sections even if their widths are variable. Once all the portions are positioned, we rehydrate once more if necessary.  |  --- | ---  |  --- | --- _{Cilindros de porcelana fría / Cold porcelain cylinders} Y empezamos a aplanar para que se vayan uniendo las partes y los colores vayan quedando unificados más no mezclados, sino como una especie de degradado. > And we start flattening so that the parts are joined and the colors are unified but not mixed, but as a kind of gradient.  |  --- | ---  _{Aplanando / Flattening} En este punto decidí cortar en cuatro partes iguales, aplanar una vez más, para luego mezclarlo un poco más, aplanar y obtener un área de forma redondeada. > At this point I decided to cut it into four equal parts, flatten it once more, then mix it some more, flatten it and obtain a rounded shaped area.  |  --- | --- _{Marmoleado definitivo / Definitive marbling} Como ya me sentía conforme con el marmoleado, procedo a marcar y recortar las piezas definitivas, para ello usé una de mis estecas devastadoras, pero en lugar de devastar corté la masa con su forma como se ve en la imagen y terminé de extraer las piezas con ayuda del bisturí. > As I was satisfied with the marbling, I proceeded to mark and cut out the final pieces, for this I used one of my devastating stecas, but instead of devastating I cut the dough with its shape as shown in the image and finished extracting the pieces with the help of the scalpel.  |  --- | ---  _{Cortando las piezas / Cutting the pieces} Al resto de la porcelana marmoleada la mezclé un poco de nuevo y formé un par de esferitas que me ayudarían a complementar el diseño. > I mixed the rest of the marbled porcelain again and formed a couple of little spheres that would help me to complement the design.  _{Cuentas esféricas / Spherical beads} Con el punzón realicé los agujeros de las piezas que me permitirían ensamblar todo para convertirlas en hermosos aretes. > With the punch I made the holes of the pieces that would allow me to assemble everything to turn them into beautiful earrings.  |  --- | ---  _{Agujerando / Piercing} Cuando las piezas estuvieron completamente secas pulí todos los bordes con el dremel para que se viera todo más prolijo. > When the pieces were completely dry I polished all the edges with the dremel to make everything look neater.  |  --- | --- _{Piezas pulidas / Polished parts} Y este fue el momento del desastre, una de las piezas con forma de gota se partió, este tipo de accidentes casi nunca me pasan porque soy súper cuidadosa, pero como aquí somos sinceros con el proceso, les muestro todo, lo bueno y lo malo también (risas). Así que tuve que replantearme mis opciones y es así como recordé que de adolescente amaba usar aretes desiguales aunque no era una moda común para ese entonces, por lo que dije “es tu momento otra vez” (más risas). > And this was the moment of disaster, one of the drop shaped pieces broke, this kind of accidents almost never happen to me because I'm super careful, but as we are honest with the process here, I show you everything, the good and the bad too (laughs). So I had to rethink my options and that's how I remembered that as a teenager I loved to wear mismatched earrings even though it was not a common fashion for that time, so I said “it's your time again” (more laughter).  _{Pieza rota / Broken part} Antes de ensamblar barnicé mis piezas con top coat y curé en lámpara, luego usé alfileres para unir todo. En el caso del arete largo pasé el alfiler a través del agujero dejando esa linda esferita dorada al frente que a me parece le dio todo un plus de elegancia, doblé el alfiler en la parte de atrás y añadí la cuenta marmoleada y un cristal. Para el arete corto ingresé el alfiler a través de una cuenta marmoleada, seguida de un cristal y una mostacilla. Cerré formando un ojal al final de cada alfiler y este lo uní con el ojal de cada anzuelo y así fue el resultado final: > Before assembling I varnished my pieces with top coat and cured in a lamp, then I used pins to join everything together. In the case of the long earring I passed the pin through the hole leaving that nice little golden sphere in the front which I think gave it a whole lot of elegance, I bent the pin in the back and added the marbled bead and a crystal. For the short earring I inserted the pin through a marbled bead, followed by a crystal and a bead. I closed by forming an eyelet at the end of each pin and attached it to the eyelet of each hook and that was the final result:  |  --- | ---  |  --- | ---  _{Resultado final / Final result} El truco en los aretes desiguales es que tengan elementos en su composición que sean iguales, como el marmoleado o los cristales en este caso, así todo se ve vinculado y homogéneo. Y por supuesto, tenía que mostrarles como se ven en uso, así que aquí se los modelo (risas): > The trick in uneven earrings is to have elements in their composition that are the same, like the marbling or the crystals in this case, so everything looks linked and homogeneous.
