Enticing Players For Rank Battles

I have been trying to motivate myself in playing Frontier but have not gotten very far. In fact I have yet to pass Bronze league now that we are into season two.

The daily rewards at this rating is simply not enticing me enough to play daily. One reward card and one raffle each time I complete five wins and up to three sets of wins to reach the daily maxed rewards. I was going to try and play through many matches just for the sake of earning the wins and it came with a heavy cost. I lost a lot.

For the time and effort I put in and the reward I get it just did not seem like an efficient use of my time to yield more. Frontier was setup in a way that every player started on the same level of cards. The cards won in the Campaign. This limiting factor makes it kind of cumbersome to play as many matches players go head to head with the same type of cards simply because they both have the same cards.

Since Frontier only allows Foundation cards I would think the game should release more Frontier cards as part of the rewards. This would bring back fond memories of initial debut of Splinterlands where rewards were all but simply cards. Even a mixture of potions and some energy or what not to entice players to play more.

This segway into what is currently on the draft proposal focusing on how to bring in more players in Survival format. For those who have played in Survival it is yet see mass adoption in the likes of Wild format. There is a difficultly of motivating players to stay active in ranked battles. This is not an exception with Survival.

The draft proposal would redistribute rewards more in favor toward lower rating players so to bring more activity in Survival. There simply is not sufficient amount of players that can use cards to play competitively in Survival. Therefore the roll down of cool down for players at lower ratings make sense as most likely those players with low ratings are still learning how to play the game.

Like I mentioned in Frontier mode the same holds true in Survival. The type of rewards are lacking, with almost no cards that can be one in Survival. In addition the reward of SPS is skewed toward higher ranks instead of what could still possibly be toward more active players in lower leagues. Not to say all higher leagues players are not very active, but the formula to earn more SPS should have how much a player plays data included into end result earned SPS per a win.

In Survival with lack of activity it meant that not many players were able to match up with one another. The limited matching leads to less battles and more waiting time in Survival. It becomes a negative feed back loop where players who want to play continue to shrink due to lack of battles and longer waiting times.

In conclusion reading through the draft proposal I think the ideas in the proposal is leading us to a positive direction on bring more players to play Survival. I won't predict the future but am hopeful that this proposal comes live and passes. Any ways we can lure in more players if incentives are attractive enough.
