It was not a surprise to see recent updates in Moon game that a new Universe would begin. This will allow all recent players in Universe 1 to have a great reset and compete with one another for the top spot. What this means for Universe 1 is up in the air. I have put in countless hours into the game and not much to show for it. Still I like to play the numbers games and thought it would be a great if there are prizes for the top players.
I have personally decided not to join Universe 2 and will remain in Universe 1 as long as it is active. Even without any rewards of any kind it has been a fun experience daily. I have lost countless hours of sleep and trying to remember which planet has resources and which are occupied it all felt addictive and exciting.
Without any rewards in Universe 1 it may detour players from continuing and focus more on Universe 2. I would not blame them considering getting incentives is the motivation to playing.
Currently my personal best is ranking in 5th on total research points. I am far behind the remainder of the competition but believe if I continue playing I have a shot at reaching higher. Overall being in 11th is a pretty good indicator that I did good in the game.
My thought is to continue growing my resources to the point where I can easily build fleets in less than a day. The pros of this gameplay is that I can quickly create large fleets as I have resources to spend. Of course the major drawback is that I become a shooting target as I lack defense or offense to guard against attacks. Instead I use fleet saves to protect what I am spending on growing.
In the weeks ahead I will report back as to what I have achieved in the game but for now as long as it is operating I will be playing. As to why I do not want to play in Universe 2 it is mainly for two reasons. One I do not have extra time to take care of two empires. The second is that I prefer to be playing in Uni 1 since I have been pretty successful in catching up to other players. Although I will admit the competition in Uni 1 is fierce as alliances have been shared among certain teams. If it ever came down to more players leaving and on VM mode within Uni 1 I will then decide to pull the plug and move on.
Moon game to me is addicting rather than pure fun. The numbers gets me every time and having a building upgrade or a research level up just entices me enough to stick around. If things do change I will need to adapt.
