This game is very addicting if you enjoy rising numbers and growing an empire. In its simplest form of text base game yet it drains many hours of my time and I have decided to stop. It was a hard decision considering where I am currently placed, but its Universe 1 so there is not much to earn other than a participation badge. I will have this post document my last days on Moon.
I made it all the way up to 9th place but will not play further. The no incentives and time consuming game is leading me to stop. On top of all that being attacked multiple times still even with it being Universe 1 I don't see a point to trying to get any higher in ranking. I love the game but will move on from here.
My strategy was simple. Add building and research as much as possible since players do not lose those once they are built. After that being able to produce a large sum or resources I would then grow a fleet and increase defense. The whole process took months if not weeks to do but it meant solid foundation on what would be a lot of points that could never be taken from me.
To limit damage from attacks I would have to be vigilant and do a ton of fleet saves. On days I do forget to check account has been days I have lost a decent amount of resources. I was surprised still a decent amount of players playing in Universe 1.
I am not building an empire so that other players can leech off of me. Instead I was hoping to build an empire that can go to be at the top of the food chain, but competition remains active even in Universe 1. Without incentives it just not worth playing for the fun. I could be playing Splinterlands and at least that would yield me some SPS and merits.
Dropping this game will give me more time to playing Splinterlands and focus on passive income in Hive/HBD. I look forward to looking at other opportunities to gaining assets rather than spending my time trying to achieve something like the top 5 spot on Moon when their is no incentives to do so.
