My Review of Open Markets (August 2025)

My most common platform to purchase cards in the open market is through monstermarket.io. This is because it was one of the first and easiest websites to use back when the game was in its infancy. I remember how quick it was for finding deals even when scrolling manually on the platform and when I did a purchase the platform return back a discount for DEC I spent on purchases. All in all it was fast and easy to use platform. To this day it remains the same.

https://monstermarket.io/ have added a lot since its introduction. The filter between types of assets is straight forward. Then the filter for rarity and abilities of cards is also easy to use. The best part is loading of the webpage is quick and data display is just enough to be able to find what players are looking for when it comes to selling and buying Splinterlands assets.

I guess one of the major drawbacks with this platform is lack of features that other platforms that I will go over has. Still if one wants a speedy platform just to find prices this is a great one to use.

Another long standing platform to buy and sell assets is no other than https://peakmonsters.com/. I use the platform almost daily for review of my rentals as its one of the first platforms to have that setup with free functions such as setting lowest rental prices and renting out in bulk. image.png

Beyond rental the platform is great at looking at one's collection and adjusting prices easily due to its ease of lists and display of information. It even has land and soul keep for players to review and adjust.

The buy and sell part is deeper in detail than other platforms however sometimes it gets difficult to find the specific information to make the purchase due to the abundant information being presented. image.png

In terms of buying and selling cards one of the first to provide is a bidding system in peakmonsters. The bidding helps players see how the demand is for a specific card. At the first introduction of the feature it was an automated buying of cards that no other platform at the time had.

In a newer platform https://nightshade.gg/ is different in that the platform focuses on ease of renting out decks. There is also a tutorial for players to go through on tips and tricks in renting and playing decks. Bottom line its a niche site for specifically renting decks and not necessarily buy and sell of cards.

image.png

Another platform similar in setting up rentals is https://gamesontheblock.com/ The platform has a filter setup so players can go through individual cards to build out a deck or start with a deck and filter in and out cards to suite one's preferences. Bottomline again its a niche in terms of renting out decks. image.png

The platform has links to want to make players go through daily such as faucet. Since I am new to the platform I do not have sufficient tokens staked to motivate myself to going to the platform daily.

image.png

In terms of longer standing sites that I am aware of monstermarket and peakmonsters stands on its own. However there is also monsterscards that comes close. The reason being is that I remember back in the day the platform had awards charts and detail individual player info that I use on a weekly basis. I am not sure if it was called monstercards back then but the interface is very similar. image.png

The platform has a lot of options and advertise to provide a staggering 75% of market fee back to players. This is the highest fees return back to players that I have seen. This includes rental fees with payback to users!

image.png

Another buy and sell market is Elmo Burns. https://elmo-burns.com/market

image.png

The platform has more info than monstermarket which can definitely help buyers and sellers. Items such as how many cards being sold on a specific day. I will admit I have not actually done a purchase on Elmo Burns ever before so the filters on the platform takes a bit more getting use to.

image.png

For instance the search of land is not indicating to me if the plot produces a specific resource such as grain, wood, stone, iron ore, etc. Something that monstermarket can do.

image.png

In terms of which is my favorite go to I would have to say I am comfortable to peakmonsters and buying and selling on monstermarkets. This is just me as I am familiar with those platforms and have enough info to satisfy my preferences. Maybe with this approach I have capped my opportunities but then again I have been doing all right. Curious if you have used these buy and sell platforms which one is your favorite?
