Hello friends of Hive, today I come with an account of the arrival of a new little friend to my family....

An adorable, mischievous and furry member has joined our family. Caramelo has revolutionized our home with his antics, his endless energy and his unconditional love.
This precious 4-legged friend came into our lives approximately since April/May of last year; we don't know where he came from, the only certainty is that he arrived in a state of malnutrition and took as his place the front of our house.
Since the first time we saw him, we got attached to him because he is a being that transmits a lot with his look, and this in those moments transmitted us that he needed us, so for that reason, together with a cousin, we decided to start giving him food and water, but still without letting him enter the house. (I make a note here, that since I was 8 years old I had not had a pet, because in the place where we live they did not allow it; I have always been a dog lover, and my sister the same).

Several days went by in which Caramelo was still outside our house, and we were still giving him his food and water, but now he started to accompany us to various places when he saw us going out. For example, he would accompany my sister to the bus stop before going to her school, or if we went to a grocery store, he would be there to keep us company. It became routine for him to wait for us and jump up and down with excitement every time we got home, but our hearts crumpled every time we had to close the door on him and couldn't let him in the house.
In early June, the rains started and all we could think about was Caramelo. He was sheltering under a roof overhanging a house in front of ours, until we decided to keep him in the garage of our house. His happiness to be indoors was incomparable, but we could not leave him for long; every time the rain stopped, we let him out, he without much encouragement and we again with a crumpled heart, but we had to follow the rules imposed by the place where we live.

At the end of June, my sister and I took a trip to Caracas, and my grandmother and dad were left in charge of Caramelo's “care”, and the day we returned there was an accident with Caramelo: a motorcycle ran over him. Thankful to the universe that it didn't happen, and he only had simple scratches that we treated and cured at home, but as they say, after the scare, a good taste, because that accident gave us the green light to have Caramelo at home for good.
Since he is here, the dynamic at home is crazy, since Caramelo is a very energetic dog. We have many toys for him, but his favorites are some stuffed animals that my sister and I gave him, and that are already somewhat “destroyed”... He loves my dad, and is very jealous with him; he barks at him demanding his attention when he sees him with us. With my sister and me he is a separate case; he is always doing something for us to play with him or simply to spoil him, and he loves and respects grandma very much, he keeps her company in the afternoons when she takes her nap.

We are amazed at his intelligence and how quickly he learns what we teach him.... Among his memorable antics are the times he goes into my sister's room to take out her stuffed animals and shows us in a way to see if he can play with them, and his bath days when we come out soaking wetter than he does. Every night, he curls up at my feet while I watch TV. He is beautiful company.
Caramelo's arrival has brought us even closer as a family. We love spending time playing with him and giving him all our love. He is a true example of the meaning of unconditional love, loyalty and friendship. Thanks to him, we have learned to be more patient, responsible and compassionate.

Those who have or have had a pet know what I am talking about. These friends are special beings that fill us with joy and accompany us in every stage of our lives, and Caramelo arrived at just the right time.
