El día 30 de diciembre del año 1982 es una marca en la memoria de los pobladores de Baire. Fecha en que se fundó el Museo Municipal Casa Jesús Rabí. Allí frente al Parque Central, que fuera en otra época llamado Plaza de rojos flamboyanes, se abrieron entonces sus puertas para que pobladores y visitantes palparan la historia de un pueblo dormido en un rincón de la nada. Aquella casa que antes perteneció a la Familia Sablón Moreno, gozaba entonces de una Arquitectura colonial de mediados del siglo XIX. Construida por la mano del maestro carpintero Tomas Licea.
Ostentaba una cubierta de cuatro aguas, patio interior, barrotes en las ventanas, espacios exageradamente amplios, elementos identitarios de esta arquitectura. Desde entonces las salas de este museo guardaban los objetos más valiosos del General Jesús Rabí y mostraban como escenas de películas muy vívidas los sucesos más trascendentales de las luchas del pueblo cubano.
En este pequeño sitio, se atesoran las evidencias de todos los hechos históricos que involucran tanto al poblado como a sus más ilustres hijos, desde mucho antes de la fundación de San Bartolo de Baire, marcada en el calendario oficialmente, en el 24 de agosto de 1820. Fotos, documentos, ropas, armas y muchos objetos más para ayudarnos a entender los tiempos antiguos. Registros de "La primera carga al machete".
