Hello coffee lovers!
Today I want to invite you to discover a special place to enjoy delicious coffee in a stunning colonial atmosphere. I'm talking about Café El Escorial, a little corner in Havana that is much more than just a coffee shop.
While strolling through Old Square, admiring its buildings and spacious porticoes guarded by sturdy columns, I came across a café that caught my eye.
Looking inside, my gaze was drawn to antique objects like coffee pots and toasters that adorned the place, as if they wanted to tell us their story. That's what motivated me to explore and learn more about the place.
I asked, and they told me that these are the old toasters and coffee pots that were used since 1913. For many years, the coffee was roasted and ground right there. The beans arrived directly from the Escambray Mountains, where they were roasted and ground to produce an exquisite and aromatic brew. Nowadays, that's not the case, but having those relics on display keeps their history alive.
Of course, I wasn't going to leave without trying their coffee. I ordered an espresso and sat on their outdoor terrace to enjoy the beautiful view of the square, surrounded by colonial buildings and colorful facades. It was the perfect setting.
My coffee arrived, and I must say it was delicious. It's a coffee with character, strong and aromatic, just the way I like it. I also ordered a hamburger to fully recharge my energy.
While sipping my coffee, I observed the square. The atmosphere is captivating; people stroll by happily, and there was a nearby spot offering live music—it was a privilege to enjoy it from where I was sitting.
Another detail I loved discovering was a plaque in honor of the renowned Cuban photographer Liborio Noval. It turns out this café was one of his favorite places. That small tribute seemed very valuable to me; it means that this place is popular for the quality of its service and its welcoming atmosphere.
I highly recommend visiting Café El Escorial, not only for the excellent coffee, but also for the opportunity to sit in one of the iconic squares of Old Havana, where the history of this café blends seamlessly with the historical surroundings.
It's a place I'm sure I'll return to.

**Disfrutando de un buen café en el ambiente colonial cubano**
¡Hola amigos amantes del café!
Hoy quiero invitarlos a conocer un lugar especial para disfrutar de un delicioso café en un ambiente colonial espectacular. Les hablo del Café El Escorial, un rincón en La Habana que es mucho más que un simple lugar para tomar café.
Mientras caminaba por la Plaza Vieja admirando sus edificios, sus amplios portales custodiados por robustas columnas me encontré con una cafetería que me llamó la atención.
Al mirar a su interior mi mirada se posó en objetos antiguos como cafeteras y tostadoras que se encontraban adornando el lugar como si nos quisieran contar su historia. Eso fue lo que me motivó a indagar y conocer el lugar.
Pregunté y me contaron que son las antiguas tostadoras y cafeteras que se usaron desde 1913 por muchos años, el café se tostaba y molía en el propio establecimiento. Los granos llegaban directamente desde la Sierra del Escambray, aquí lo tostaban y molían para brindar un exquisito y aromático elixir. En la actualidad no es así, pero tener esas reliquias a la vista mantienen viva su historia.
Por supuesto, no iba a irme sin probar su café. Pedí un exprés y me senté en su terraza exterior para deleitarme con la hermosa vista de la plaza rodeada de edificios coloniales y fachadas de colores. Era un escenario perfecto.
Llegó mi café y debo decirles que estaba delicioso. Es un café con carácter, fuerte y aromático, tal como me gusta. También pedí una hamburguesa para reponer mis energías completamente.
Mientras sorbía mi café, observaba la plaza. El ambiente es cautivador, las personas pasan alegres, había un sitio cercano donde ofrecían música en vivo, fue un privilegio disfrutarla desde donde estaba.
Otro detalle que me encantó descubrir fue una placa en honor al reconocido fotógrafo cubano Liborio Noval. Resulta que este café era uno de sus sitios preferidos. Ese pequeño homenaje me pareció muy valioso, significa que es un sitio popular por la calidad de su servicio y su ambiente familiar.
Les recomiendo absolutamente visitar el Café El Escorial, no solo por la excelencia de su café sino también por la oportunidad de sentarse en una de las plazas emblemáticas de La Habana Vieja donde la historia de este Café se funde con la histórica plaza.
Es un sitio al que, estoy segura, volveré.
