Today we celebrate the birthday of my oldest daughter, Daniela, a wonderful young woman who has decided to dedicate her life to medicine. As many of you know, she is currently pursuing her university studies, and today, on her birthday, she was due to complete her medical shift. What a significant coincidence! Although it was a 12-hour shift, fortunately she was able to return home in the late afternoon, and we were waiting for her with a lovely surprise that we prepared with much love.
My son-in-law, Miguel, always attentive and thoughtful, was in charge of bringing a delicious cake that, from the moment we saw it, we knew would be the star of the evening. For my part, I dedicated myself to organizing everything at home, so that, even though it wasn't a big celebration, we would have an intimate and special moment. We were joined by her best friend and my sisters, very close people who have been fundamental parts of our lives.
The gathering was simple but full of meaning. We talked about everything, shared laughs, anecdotes, and reflections. Then came the most anticipated moment: we sang Happy Birthday with all the enthusiasm in the world and tasted the cake, which not only looked spectacular but was also exquisite.
Seeing my daughter's face when she arrived and found this small tribute was deeply moving. Despite her tiredness, her eyes shone with emotion and gratitude. It was a reminder that no matter how busy we are or how simple the planes are, what truly matters is the love with which things are made.
