I had just started working at the clinica place that, over time, became my second home. I clearly remember the excitement of those first days, the nerves of facing new challenges, and the joy of meeting wonderful people who left a lasting mark on my journey.
Back then, the clinic organized sports games to celebrate its anniversary, and as part of the festivities, there was a contest to crown the “princess” of the event. To my surprise and with great emotion my coworkers chose me as the candidate to represent the secretaries’ team. It was a gesture that filled me with pride and gratitude, because beyond the contest itself, I felt the support, trust, and affection of those around me.
I didn’t win, although I was told I was one of the favorites at the time. The winner was chosen by votes from all the clinic staff, and each department had its own candidate. The nurses have always outnumbered the rest, so their candidate won. She was a sweet girl, a bit chubby, and I ended up as the first runner-up. Still, I enjoyed every moment of it.
That photograph captures more than just an image it holds a piece of my story, a moment that reminds me how important it is to cherish every stage of life, no matter how simple it may seem. Sometimes, the most humble memories are the ones that show us how much we've grown.

En esa época, la clínica organizaba unos juegos deportivos para celebrar su aniversario, y como parte de las actividades, se realizaba una elección para coronar a la “princesa” del evento, para mi sorpresa y con mucha emoción mis compañeras me escogieron como candidata para representar al equipo de secretarias. Fue un gesto que me llenó de orgullo y gratitud, porque más allá del concurso, sentí el apoyo, la confianza y el cariño de quienes me rodeaban.
Les cuento que no gané, aunque según me comentaron en ese entonces, era una de las favoritas. La elección se llevó a cabo por votación de todo el personal de la clínica, y cada departamento tenía su propia candidata. Las enfermeras, como siempre, eran mayoría, y su candidata resultó ganadora. Recuerdo que era una chica de contextura más robusta, y aunque no fui coronada princesa, quedé como primera finalista. Y saben qué… lo disfruté de principio a fin. Fue una experiencia divertida, emotiva y llena de compañerismo.
