An Afternoon Of Golfeados And Coffee ☕️.🍩

Hello, friends! In the Vialia station plaza, Vigo, there is a little corner that stole my heart (and my stomach), [El Chichero.](https://www.instagram.com/p/DF-sdMqMZi4/) It is a small stand, just below the escalators, near the main entrance of the shopping center. It is not a restaurant or a large establishment, but it has a variety of snacks that, when you try them, make you feel like you are receiving a warm Venezuelan hug! The first thing that caught my attention was the name because here in Spain I don't think they make chicha, so when I saw El Chichero I imagined it was Venezuelan. When I approached, I was able to talk to the girl who was serving and she told me she was the owner, a young Venezuelan woman who has launched her own business. As a good Venezuelan, I couldn't help but support my compatriot, especially when the smells coming from the stall were pure memories of home!   The highlight of the place is [Venezuelan chicha,](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicha_criolla) creamy, sweet, with cinnamon, and that special touch that transports you straight to Venezuela! But in this case, I didn't try the chicha, it's too sweet for my taste. Nowadays, I'm a girl who avoids sweets, but of course, I haven't given them up completely! :)) This time, I went straight for what really appealed to me, [the Golfeados.](https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golfeado) This dessert takes you back to your childhood. I don't think there's a Venezuelan who hasn't tried a golpeado in their life. For those who don't know, it's a soft bread, rolled into a spiral with a hint of anise, sweetened with papelón (panela) and, finally, topped with queso de mano or queso fresco. That contrast between sweet and salty is basically the edible version of paradise. 😋  I also ordered a hot coffee to go with my golfeado. Look at this photo, I zoomed in because you don't see this every day: the golden brown golfeado, the sweet papelón, and that topping of almost melted cheese. Oh, didn't I tell you that golfeado has to be served warm? Well, yes! It's a sweet that's served warm, not too hot but warm enough for the cheese to stick to the bread. Every bite took me straight back to my neighborhood. Mmm, what sweet memories!   They also have other delicacies such as cachitos de jamón (horn-shaped bread rolls filled with chopped ham), different flavors of milkshakes, red velvet cupcakes, mini pizzas, guava bread, and cinnamon rolls that smell so good they almost embrace you before you even taste them. I'm a fan of anything that smells like cinnamon!     If you have a sweet tooth, I think you'll really enjoy El Chichero. What's more, the service is second to none, as you have the pleasure of being served by the owner himself. I was very pleased and would recommend it without hesitation.  ### Thanks for stopping by.
