Change of plans

Early today morning I had an invitation extended to me by a teacher from a course I took a month ago. The talk was supposed to be about "Discovering the power of entrepreneurship".

It would be an inspiring talk where the teacher would share her experience in the world of entrepreneurship.

And that was my plan, but, there is never a shortage of buts. This morning I had to make a visit to another site, not very inspiring, but enough to think about. I had an unexpected change of plans!

What I have is not serious. Thank God for that! So don't worry if you were thinking of doing it! 😂 but it is something that afflicted me a week ago and as always, there are "more important" things to solve than a "simple" ailment, such as work, a sick family member, among others. Then we leave our health in the background until the body tells you that it can't take it anymore and it is inevitable to continue ignoring the signs.

While I was waiting in the emergency room to be attended I heard several people complaining of pain, especially a man who was shouting to be attended quickly.

That agony with which he complained reminded me of several cases of family members and friends with terminal illnesses. Some of them left without so much suffering, sometimes they did not even complain, they just slowly died without making much noise. In other cases the suffering and agony was very long.

And the only different thing I have seen in these cases is the attachment and the desire to go on living. People who have a lot to live for, suffer much longer their illness, they do not give up easily, they try everything and they always have a hope. In many cases they live for a few more years and in a few cases they manage to recover miraculously!

While those who are resigned and who find no reason to go to battle, or who simply see it as a lost fight because of past experiences they have witnessed, then they leave very quickly, they convince themselves that it is not worth fighting or prolonging the suffering (these are the cases I have seen the most).

I don't know if we should give up quickly in the face of a terminal illness or keep fighting for a hope of survival. It is something so personal that only by living that experience we will know which path to take. I have also seen cases of miraculous and inexplicable healing for medical science, (like the case of my sister-in-law, which I will tell you about at some point) but unfortunately they are not the most common.

After thinking about all of the above, my reflection is that as long as we have health we should take care of it, do not ignore any sign that the body gives us because it can be the difference between a speedy recovery or a long agony.

Someone said: Live each day as if it were your last.

Have a good day! ✨
