Hi friends, I think this is the first time I participate in this #weekend-Engagement initiative by @Galenkp, or at least that I remember.
In this challenge there are several topics to choose from and the first one clicked for me as soon as I read it, because I have been trying to stop consuming sugar for some time now but honestly, I have not been able to give it up for good.
I've never been a big fan of sweets, since I was a child our mother did not accustom us to consume many sweet “foods” and not because she thought much about our health in those times (although I do not doubt that my mother always wanted us to be healthy), the thing is that we were eight children and the only provider was my father so there was no money for sweets, candy, soda or things that had a lot of sweet, we only bought at home what was necessary to “feed” us.
In my adulthood was that I started eating chocolates because I really didn't like them, now I tolerate dark chocolate without sweet, and some homemade fruit candies and cakes with little sugar.
I am a big fan of lattes and always like them with sugar, but a few months ago my husband and I decided to stop eating added sugar and high fructose fruits. My husband was more addicted to sugar than me, it was hard for him at first but he managed to stop consuming sugar in coffee and any beverage.
In my case everything was fine, for me it was not difficult, but after a few weeks I began to feel slight dizziness in the mornings and I felt low energy, I did not consult the doctor because I did not see it necessary, but I consulted with the Chat GPT, yes, I know, I should not do that, it is irresponsible, but the result he gave me is that probably my glucose levels are very low in the mornings, so with that diagnosis I decided to add sugar to my coffee in the mornings and eat a piece of fruit and what do you think? The dizziness disappeared!
I know you may think that this improvement is temporary and that I should go to the doctor and I'm sure I will when I feel sick again.
So to the question: Could you cut out sugar permanently? I think my answer for now is No. But maybe at a later time when the turbulence of my husband's illness passes, I could try again. I hope. 😬

Thank you for your time. Remember to have a great weekend
