Thank you, Hive, for these 8 years! 🎉

Yes, eight years ago! Hello, friends! A few days ago, I received notification of my 8th anniversary at Hive, and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to share it with you, briefly recounting what my journey in Blockchain has been like. When I decided to take my first step into Hive, I never imagined how much this adventure would mean to me. I remember it was August 16th so that it would coincide with my birthday and I would never forget it, but the confirmation came three days later. At that time, it was just curiosity. I wanted to learn about the platform, and at that time, I wasn't busy with any job, so after much insistence from my daughter @brendavanessa17, I decided to take the step of opening an account. Today, I can say that it has become a space for learning, growth, and sharing with incredible people from all over the world. ### My first steps... I remember my [first post](https://steemit.com/steemit/@mballesteros/my-introduce#@mballesteros/re-btcbtcbtc20155-re-mballesteros-my-introduce-20170819t225547693z) very well. I published it without any guidance because at that time there were no communities, tutorials, or mentors (or I didn't know of any at the time) to help me take my first steps with more confidence. That post didn't even reach 50 cents, and honestly, at that time, I got more satisfaction from the comments than from the amount shown in the rewards section. I must admit that my first content was a disaster. I didn't understand anything about Markdown, I didn't know what to write, and the truth is that my daughter knew very little too. She just got me into this universe and soon lost interest in blockchain, leaving me stranded in a world that was new to me! 

Si, hace 8 años!

Hola amigos! Hace días recibí la notificación de mi 8vo. aniversario en Hive y no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de compartirlo con ustedes, narrando brevemente como ha sido  mi viaje en la Blockchain.

Cuando decidí dar mi primer paso en Hive no me imaginé todo lo que esta aventura significaría para mí, recuerdo que fue un 16 de Agosto para que coincidiera con mi cumpleaños y nunca se me olvidara, pero la confirmación me llegó 3 días después. En aquel momento solo era curiosidad, quería conocer la plataforma y para ese momento no estaba ocupada en ningún empleo, así que después de tanta insistencia de mi hija @brendavanessa17, decidí dar el paso de abrir la cuenta. Hoy puedo decir que se ha convertido en un espacio de mucho aprendizaje, de crecimiento y de compartir con personas increíbles de todo el mundo.

### Mis primeros pasos ...

Recuerdo muy bien mi primer post. Lo publiqué sin ninguna orientación porque para ese entonces no existían comunidades, tutoriales o personas guías (o no las conocía para ese entonces) para dar los primeros pasos con más seguridad. Ese post ni siquiera llegó a 50 centavos y sinceramente para ese momento me daba más satisfacción los comentarios que el monto que mostraba la parte de las recompensas. Debo admitir que mis primeros contenidos eran un desastre. No entendía nada del Markdown, no sabía qué escribir, y la verdad mi hija sabía muy poco también, ella solo me metió en este universo y al poco tiempo perdió el interés en la blockchain, me dejó botada en un mundo nuevo para mí!

-----  ------ ### Perseverance... Even so, I kept trying, learning from those who had been publishing for some time. Over time, I found my niche. I gravitated toward photography and began participating in every photography contest I could find in different communities. In those contests, I discovered that I really liked photography, not just to win contests but as a way to express myself. I remember that what hooked me the most was when I started participating in the collages of the community I am now part of, @Lmac. So much so that I ended up buying my own Canon camera (which I no longer use, by the way) so I could have good images for my posts. I installed Photoshop on my laptop and started watching tutorials on YouTube to improve my photos and learn how to make collages, so I can say that Hive not only motivated me to write, learn, and share, but also awakened a new passion in me.

Perseverancia ...

Aún así, seguí intentándolo, aprendiendo de los que ya tenían tiempo publicando. Con el tiempo fui encontrando mi nicho. Me fui inclinando hacia la fotografía y empecé a participar en todos los concursos fotográficos que encontraba en las diferentes comunidades. En esos concursos descubrí que realmente me gustaba la fotografía, no solo para ganar concursos sino como una manera de expresarme. Recuerdo que lo que más me enganchó fue cuando empecé participar en los collages de la comunidad de la que hoy formo parte, @Lmac. Tanto así que terminé comprando mi propia cámara Canon (por cierto ya no la uso) para poder tener buenas imágenes para mis posts. Instale Photoshop en mi laptop y empecé a ver tutoriales en Youtube para mejorar mis fotos y para aprender a hacer los collages, así que puedo decir que Hive no solo me motivó a escribir, aprender y compartir, también despertó en mí una nueva pasión.

 -------- ### Learning... Thanks to Hive, I began to understand the world of cryptocurrencies and was able to make my first investment. I learned how to use exchanges, manage wallets, and understand how transactions work. I remember that every time I went to make a withdrawal, I was terrified of making a mistake and losing my funds. For many, this may seem normal, but for me, it was something difficult to learn. Hive has not only been a blog where I can write, it has been my gateway to a whole new world, it has been a school. At important moments, I have received great support from Hive. Thanks to my rewards and savings, I have been able to send remittances to my family in Venezuela when they needed it most. It's something I am very grateful to Hive for, because I never would have thought that sharing content and learning on a social network would help me in such a direct way. Thank you, Hive! ### Step by step But I haven't just earned rewards, I've believed in the project and invested more than just time. I had previously invested very little, but recently, when the currency dropped a little more, I took the opportunity to buy Hive and was able to increase my account to a little over 12K in stake. I know it's not much, but I plan to continue investing because I want my vote to have more power to share!

Aprendizaje ...

Gracias a Hive empecé a comprender el mundo de las criptomonedas, pude hacer mi primera inversión. Aprendí a usar los exchange, a manejar wallets, a entender cómo funcionan las transacciones. Recuerdo que cada vez que iba a hacer un retiro me aterraba equivocarme y perder los fondos. Para muchos puede parecer normal, pero para mí fue algo difícil de aprender. Hive no solo ha sido un blog donde escribir, ha sido mi puerta de entrada a un mundo completamente nuevo, ha sido una escuela. 

En momentos importantes he conseguido un gran apoyo en Hive. Gracias a mis recompensas y ahorros, he podido enviar remesas a mi familia en Venezuela cuando más lo han necesitado. Es algo que agradezco mucho a Hive, porque yo jamás hubiera pensado que compartir contenido y aprender en una red social me ayudaría de esa manera tan directa. Gracias Hive! 

Paso a paso ...

Pero no solo he ganado recompensas, sino que he creído en el proyecto y no solo he invertido tiempo. Antes ya  he invertido muy poco pero recientemente, cuando la moneda bajó un poco más, aproveché para comprar Hive y pude subir mi cuenta a un poco más de 12K en stake. Sé que es poco pero pienso seguir invirtiendo porque quiero que mi voto tenga más fuerza para compartir!

In this section, I don't want to name anyone because I might leave someone out and that would be unfair, but I want to thank the projects, my friends, and everyone who has ever believed in me and supported me, those who have taken the time to correct and advise me, and those who have stopped to comment on my posts. I also want to thank the contest organizers, project curators, and all the communities that make Hive a much friendlier place for new users. Thanks to all of you, I have been able to grow and remain motivated to continue. These eight years on Hive have been a journey full of ups and downs, learning experiences, and satisfaction. I have made mistakes, I have had to be absent, I have tried to post daily (something I have not achieved), I have met wonderful people, and I have discovered skills I did not even know I had. It is not just a number of years, it is a path full of stories, it is part of my life (I do not remember lasting this long in any job). Thank you, Hive, for everything you've given me and for everything that's to come. I feel like this is just the beginning. There's still so much to learn, so much to contribute, and so many dreams to fulfill. And who knows, maybe in another eight years, I'll be a whale!

En esta sección no quiero nombrar a nadie porque tal vez alguien se me quede por fuera y sería injusto, pero quiero agradecer a los proyectos, a los amigos y a todos los que en algún momento han creído en mi y me han apoyado, a quienes se han tomado el tiempo de corregirme y de aconsejarme y a los que se han detenido a comentar mis post. También quiero agradecer a los organizadores de concursos, a los curadores de proyectos y todas las comunidades que hacen de Hive un lugar mucho más amigable para los nuevos usuarios. Gracias a todos ustedes he podido crecer y seguir motivada a continuar.

Estos 8 años en Hive han sido un viaje lleno de altibajos, de aprendizajes y de satisfacciones. He cometido errores, me ha tocado ausentarme, he tratado de publicar diariamente,(algo que no he logrado) he conocido gente maravillosa y he descubierto habilidades que ni sabía que tenía. No es solo un número de años, es un camino lleno de historias, es parte de mi vida (no recuerdo haber durado tanto ni en un empleo).

Gracias, Hive, por todo lo que me has dado y por todo lo que viene. Siento que esto es solo parte del comienzo. Todavía hay mucho por aprender, mucho por aportar y muchos sueños que cumplir. Y Quién sabe, quizá dentro de 8 años más ya sea una ballena!
