Thursday, speed day, and today it was time for those short speeds, the ones I enjoy the most. I really enjoyed today's speed training. Today I had to train in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I couldn't go in the morning, and I really felt the intensity of the temperatures. I was used to training in the morning, but when you can't, you have to find alternatives. Also, as today's training was short, and as it was not indicated by a friend who is guiding us, I did not worry too much about the high temperatures. I arrived at the stadium, which was quite busy. I even missed seeing so many people in the stadium and balls here and there. When I arrived, I warmed up for about two kilometres, and then started with 50-metre sprints. I relaxed and enjoyed my training that day. These sprints are short but very explosive, as they go all out, speed up the metabolism, and increase endurance.
It is essential to warm up well to do this short, explosive speed training. These sprints are immediate and don't last long. It is an excellent exercise to keep us active, especially when we are close to a race. After finishing the sprints, you should cool down for 10 to 15 minutes. I relaxed by doing a few laps with a friend who was also training at the stadium. And now, with great excitement, I am preparing everything for the big running party in the capital with the Hiverun team.
