Greetings friends
With just a few days to go before the Caracas Rock 2025 race, we are excited, counting down the days and preparing all the logistics to enjoy this wonderful experience for the first time, although we are naturally uncertain as we do not know the route. Today we went to train early in the morning with the weather in our favour at the stadium. Today we did some long speed work, as instructed by our friend, the coach, a very experienced gentleman who always gives us lots of advice. He is an excellent runner, and we really enjoy his advice and the experiences he has had in every race he has participated in. Today he showed up at the stadium to see how we were doing. I felt like I was being watched, ha ha ha. I started with a 12-minute warm-up, hydrated, and began the speed work. The idea was to do 5K at pace, but I couldn't keep up and only did 3K. I started working in areas outside my comfort zone, feeling the pressure for longer. I also started too fast, and when I reached the 3-kilometre mark, I stopped. My mind dominated me more than my fatigue. Well, it's part of the training. Then I did a few minutes of cooling down.
Not being able to finish a training session always makes you feel bad, but I think it makes us stronger. And that's it, closing cycles to keep moving forward. Now on to the last training sessions scheduled for this race, so I can perform well. It's very important to get plenty of rest and eat well before a race, as this is also part of training.
