Poland left me with beautiful memories, but ultimately there was one moment that will always remain in my heart. This moment came when we all came together to watch the Water Direct movie as a group. The room was overwhelmingly filled with emotion as we watched the film unfold, exposing the lengths many people go to for access to clean water. Witnessing their pain and perseverance was profoundly moving.
What made this moment exceptionally special was it was not just a movie about struggle but also a story of transformation. The revelation of seeing these same individuals that had endured this struggle so profoundly blessed with the access of clean drinking water with the help from Hive was very moving. It was not just a film but the reality that has changed lives forever.
The level of emotion in that room was sincere. Everyone sat still, fixed to the screen with eyes glued to every scene, while hearts overflowed with empathy and contemplation. It was as if we all had a collective moment of realisation of just how privileged we sometimes forget we are and how hope was brought to life to these communities because of Hive.
The best part of that movie moment was the collective pride. Every individual in that room had a confidence within themselves that they were part of this story. Everyone in that room had touched this dream in one way or another, and that happiness was stamped on every face in the room.
Poland was not just another destination for me. It was a place where we shared stories of hope together. We were together, celebrating the impact Hive had had on transforming lives with access to something so essential and beautiful.
