Greetings to all the readers here
I often try to learn something from whatever I see on social media. I believe time is quite valuable, and no matter what we see, if we think and observe carefully, there is always something good we can learn from it.
Today I saw a video where a girl was cleaning the window of a train. Now, if you are not from India, let me tell you that the situation of Indian Railways is not very good. There is a lot of mess even at the capital city railway station. So this girl was cleaning the window and recording a reel to upload, and obviously, I was the end user who was consuming that reel.
At first, it looked quite nice that someone from this generation was trying to clean something, even if it was just a single window. Because if 100 people, or even a few, get inspired by her and start doing the same, maybe things will start to change.
Of course, this is something the government should take care of, but I do not want to go into that topic because I am not a political debater and I prefer to stay away from such discussions.
However, when I watched the entire video, I noticed something at the end that really caught my attention. The same girl who cleaned the window threw the empty bottle she used to spray water and the tissue paper she used to wipe the window on the platform itself.
So, while on one hand she cleaned the window, on the other hand she contributed to littering the railway station. That made me realize that maybe it was just for content and not done for any ethical or moral reason.
Still, I tried to take a positive lesson from it. What I learned is that we should not feel ashamed to take small initiatives to keep our surroundings clean. Even our holy scriptures teach us that cleanliness is important and that we should maintain a clean environment.
What I want to ask everyone today is to take a small step toward making your surroundings clean. I am not saying that you should go out on the streets and start picking up all the litter and throwing it into the dustbin.
But if you are walking somewhere and you see something like a plastic bottle that you can easily pick and throw in the bin, then do it. Because every small step contributes to a bigger change. And maybe, when someone sees you doing it, they might get inspired to do something even greater.
That is what I learned from the video I saw. I chose to ignore the negative part where she threw the garbage because I do not have to focus on what I did not like. Instead, I focused on the good part, the effort to clean something.
So, that is what I wanted to share today. Whenever you see something, try to learn something good from it and share it with your younger siblings or children at home so that they can learn it at an earlier age than yours.
Thank you.
