Today we went to the Splinterland Battlefield once again, and this time the strategy was a little different. The battle rulesets were normal. You can see in the screenshot below that there was no specific ruleset. The mana cost was 43, which was good because I could bring my best cards from the inventory into the battle.

The 5 Archons that I have won recently after completing the campaign mode can be seen below, and one of them was chosen for this match. After thinking for a minute, I decided to take Thalgrimore into the battle because it gives -1 health to the opponent team, and that is the Archon I was counting on for this fight.

In the screenshot below, you can see the very first round. At the first position, I placed Great Bear Druid, and at the second position, I placed New Beluroc Aegis. This card comes with the Taunt ability, and there was a reason why I kept it in the second position.

I am going to tell why I kept it at the second position later.

Now, in the screenshot below, you can see that in no time I was able to win the battle. That is the last round you are seeing in the screenshot below, where I managed to keep all my cards alive, and the opponent lost all of theirs. It was a perfect win for me without losing a single card.

Let me share the strategy I used, which clearly worked. The card Great Bear Druid comes with 2 attacks, magic and melee. When its turn comes, it attacks twice, but only if it is in the first position, because its melee attack cannot be used from any other position at the moment.

The card New Beluroc Aegis with the Taunt ability played an important role. The Taunt ability diverts all the attacks from the opponent toward the card that has this ability. It does not affect reach, scatter shot, wing break, or enemy units in the first position.

This strategy worked perfectly, as almost all the opponent’s attacks were directed at this card, while my card in the first position managed to deal continuous damage and secure victory.

Another important card I used was Sorrow Harvester, which comes with 2 magic attacks. It also reduces 1 health point from all enemy units ( Thanks to the weaken ability that comes with this card). So in total, the opponent team received -2 health because Thalgrimore also reduced 1 health point.

That is how I managed to win this battle, and I am really happy with how the strategy worked. I hope to learn more about the game in the coming days, and I am already enjoying it a lot.
