Our Negros Island vacation continues. I have mentioned in my previous post that I would tell you about the activities we did during our stay in Negros.
Long before we took this trip, we had already discussed travelling to Bacolod City. We thought, since Bacolod and my hometown happen to be on the same island, why not take the trip and visit the City of Smiles! As planned, we took the trip the next morning we arrived in Bais City. Our point of origin was Bais. According to Google, it is 160 kilometers via the Mabinay - Kabankalan road.
We were not alone during the trip. My papa and Ate Jo, (my Papa's second wife) were also with us. We were in convoy. The original plan was to leave early, yet we started our travel around 8:30 AM. So much for being early 😆. We dropped by a store for a light breakfast. Puto, biko, and hot sikwate (choco).
After eating, we were off to Bacolod City. The main purpose of our trip, by the way, was to visit the ongoing construction of the Bacolod Philippines Temple.
So from Bais City we took the left turn to Mabinay - Kabankalan Road.
Taking this road will lead us to Kabankalan City, a city that is part of the province of Negros Occidental. As we travel this ascending and descending road, we pass by the beautiful views of the mountains, trees, blue skies, clouds, and everything in between.
This is what I love about travelling in the province. All of nature's beauty is right before our very eyes. Untouched mountains compared to the ones in the city, where houses and buildings populated the areas. Call me nostalgic, but I love those times when life was simple and we enjoyed nature.
Back to our trip, let me show you some of my captures along the way.
Prior to our trip, Jay, my husband, contacted his friend in Bacolod that we are going there. So while on travel, we exchanged messages telling him we were on our way.
We arrived past 12 noon in Bacolod City. Jay's friend offered to treat us to lunch at Chicken House, one of the famous restaurants in the city. We caught up over lunch, then we said our goodbyes and headed to the Bacolod Temple site.
We finally arrived at our destination. We took photos. The temple is said to be finished next year. We are excited to visit it once again when it is open.
We stopped by the area just for a few minutes. We didn't want to linger long, as we couldn't get inside yet. After we're done with the photo ops, we decided to visit The Ruins, which was just a few blocks from the temple site.
In my next blog, I will share our visit and the photos we took during our trip.
At this time, I leave you here with our visit to the Bacolod Temple. Overall, we had an exciting trip. Our butts hurt after LOL because we drove back to Bais the same day. Making it 12 12-hour travel the same day. :D It was fun though!
Thank you for reaching this far. Until next blog.
xoxo,
Met
