it is always a joy to come upon a Great Blue Heron wading in the river. There is one that is often standing on the dock in our neighborhood doing some early morning fishing.
Herons are large wading birds in North and Central America standing about 4 feet (1.2 meters) and it has a wingspan of 6 to 7 feet (1.8 to 2.1 meters) has a wingspan of 6 to 7 feet (1.8 to 2.1 meters)
The nearby rookery seemed to have a successful hatch this year and we are seeing more herons around than ever before. They are such graceful birds!
