Visiting a garden brings you up close to the quiet drama of nature that is constantly unfolding day by day.
We can enjoy the plants and flowers that are providing food and shelter for the rest of the inhabitants. Insects, pollinators, pests, benificials, birds, mammals, microorganisms and fungi all add another layer of activity to the garden.
It doesn't matter the time of day,
In the morning the garden wakes up with the chirping of birds and the first flight of bees.
At midday when the sun is high, the garden is at its busiest. The scent of flowers is at its peak and pollinators are most active.
In the evening moths and snails emerge and the nocturnal creatures take over..
Gardens are a place to observe and wonder about our connection to the cycles of the natural world.
