Hello, Everyone!
This picture was an experiment that almost went wrong. Now, I'm really proud of it.
It all started with this little image, drawn as illustration for an episode of 'Mary Windfiddle's adventures'.
It was at the end of last year, and I was tired and art-blocky. I had just coloured this picture and it had taken me a looot of time and effort. So, I wanted to be less careful and more 'artustic' for the next one.
I took a sponge and started blotting almost randomly, until it was all covered in paint. Kinda like this:
I immediatelly hated it!
I was ready to trash this page - just cover it with a posca marker and put some stickers on, to hide my shame. But then I thought - hmmm, posca? Why don't I try using them creatively, and not only to cover my mistakes?
And I did!
I covered all the 'sky' between the two worlds in Bytopia with black and it started looking really nice. I lost most of my details (especially on the upside-down city) but it was a small price to pay for a picture well done.
I really like the final result. Do you?
Take care and be well!
Also, if you don't follow me, you might not know what I usually do out here. So, here's a link to 'Mary Windfiddle's Adventures' - the story I've been writing and illustrating for the past three years! Hope you like it! ❤️
