It’s been such a while since I last wrote a blog. Life happened—let’s just say I’ve been going through some growing-up situations that I had to deal with. But now, I’m back and excited to share some new stories with you! --- Today, I want to share my adventure in Cambobho. A little FYI for those who don’t know: I’m already in my fourth year, currently doing my OJT (On-the-Job Training) at the LGU Danao. I was assigned to the Office of CICTO, which stands for City Information and Communication Technology Office.

--- Every Thursday and Friday, we do checkups or maintenance on the towers built by CICTO. Our office is the one responsible for providing free Wi-Fi in Danao City, including the main city and some of its barangays. One of these barangays is Cambobho. So, five of us OJTs were assigned to join the CICTO employees for this trip—and I was lucky enough to be one of them! ![received_1482425456460755.jpeg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/melll/Eoptr5obByWhc7AknfwEV6J2bsPqM2ycJGebb7pSWd6thUMrbb1sDdgEW1hJtdYPbFa.jpeg) We began our journey on a Thursday morning. All five OJTs and seven CICTO employees gathered and prepared for the adventure. At around 8:30 AM, we left and made a few stops at stores and the market to buy food to cook later. A little background: the tower we were visiting is located in Cambobho, which—like most communication towers—is built at a high point, deep in the mountains. That meant we had to gear up with food and snacks for a long, tiring hike. --- If you’re not from Danao City, feel free to Google “Cambobho” to see where we were headed. But if you are from here, If you're from Danao City, you probably already know Cambobho is near Barangay Lawaan. It’s really far, and the trip took almost an hour—or maybe more. I wasn’t exactly sure, because I was too busy admiring the beautiful mountain views. I completely lost track of time, and before I knew it, we had arrived. Our first stop was the Cambobho Barangay Hall. We needed the barangay head to sign a clearance letter to officially let them know we were going up the mountain. I also took the chance to change shirts and gear up for the long hike ahead. As we began our hike, we passed through cornfields, sharp rocks, and obstacles like fallen trees.

One thing that really caught my eye was the small houses hidden deep in the forest. It felt so enchanting—almost mythical. There was even a large stone near one of the houses that made it look like something out of a fantasy story. The place was peaceful, with no internet, no electricity—just water and the beauty of nature. Honestly, I think life there could be fun, especially if you live with people you love. --- Along the way, one of the employees flew a drone to capture our adventure from above. The trail got steeper and rockier, and since I wasn’t used to hiking, I was quickly out of breath. It was my first hike of the year—actually, my first real hike ever—so I needed to rest often and drink lots of water. As we climbed higher, the grass grew taller and thicker. In some places, we had to make our own trail. I picked up a stick to help me walk, and after about 30 minutes, we finally reached the top.

The view was absolutely breathtaking. But the tower itself was a challenge—it was surrounded by thorny plants, tall grass, and trees, which made it hard to get close for maintenance. After a quick rest, some of the employees started cooking inihaw na baboy (grilled pork) while others began clearing the area around the tower. We all pitched in—some trimming the weeds, others setting up a spot to relax and enjoy the view. We also took some photos and videos for documentation. When the food was ready, we gathered and shared a meal together. I remember the pork paired with super sour vinegar—so good! We played music on a Bluetooth speaker, making the lunch feel like a small picnic on top of the world. ![IMG_20250709_121240.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/melll/EoptuFVsnoWmBmDzourCUxGBthbVUJVPR9krMoFHBGs6dXveGsCHBucWsVX4CRTxpde.jpg After eating, the real work began. Some employees climbed the tower to clean and inspect it, while others stayed on the ground to fix the solar panels. Once the tasks were done, we began our descent.

--- Going down was even harder than climbing up. Gravity made it tricky to stay balanced, and the steep, rocky trail was tough to navigate. I was thankful for my hiking stick—and especially for one of my fellow OJTs, who kept holding onto my jacket every time I slipped a little. She really helped keep me steady. ![untitled.gif](https://media.tenor.com/IOwelt1b3msAAAAC/fall-animated.gif) After making it down safely, we headed to another barangay called Magtagubtub. Since it was nearby, we were given a new task: remove the Wi-Fi equipment from their barangay hall, which was about to be renovated. We didn’t want the equipment to get damaged during construction. As we arrived in Magtagubtub, we were once again stunned by the views—another hidden gem of Danao City. We noticed how much progress had been made on the barangay hall. After talking to the barangay officials, we learned that they had changed plans and decided not to remove the Wi-Fi equipment yet. Instead, they gave us some snacks—so that was a nice little bonus! --- Then one of the employees suggested we take a shortcut through Santikan, which is closer to Carmen. I’m not sure exactly if Santikan is part of Carmen or Danao, but it was definitely the route toward Carmen City. The scenery there was also amazing—the blue skies and lush green grass captured the feeling of peace perfectly.

Before heading home, we passed by Cebu Safari, a popular zoo and adventure park. We didn’t go inside (we didn’t have money for that!), but we stopped at the entrance to take some fun “clout-chasing” photos.

Finally, we made our way back home, traveling through Carmen City and returning to Danao. The ride was long, tiring, and honestly a bit nauseating. We stopped at a bakery to grab some bread and soft drinks, then returned to the City Hall to report everything to our boss. --- And that’s it! Thank you so much for reading my little corner of the internet. I hope you had as much fun reading this as I had writing it. Until next time! 🌄✨ ![Pink and Brown Illustrative Happy Birthday Banner_20241228_142026_0000.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/melll/48UGX6SkMHgYieXmS3m4pzrZrtqQk8t73ZCGMgRMSyms25ug5rCNdMpqAzbVt8Zf4H.jpg)
