Hello to all my friends in the LikeTu community. This is Menti, and today’s photography session was with a professional barber in his own salon. The subject of the shoot was “Sohail,” better known as Sohail Fade. A name that directly refers to his expertise in fade haircuts, which has now become his personal signature.
The natural light pouring through the salon’s wide windows offered the perfect opportunity to create unique frames. The shadows softened, highlighting Sohail’s facial features. Using a prime lens allowed me to blur the background while keeping the focus entirely on him.
In one of the photos, Sohail’s seated posture and gaze outside conveyed a sense of calm reflection. In another, holding scissors in his hand added both energy and confidence to the frame — a simple but powerful gesture that represents his craft. These are the kinds of authentic moments a photographer always seeks.
One of the portraits captured his direct gaze into the camera, creating more than just a photo — it built a connection between subject and viewer. The subtle reflection of light on his shirt added texture and depth to the image, making the composition feel more alive.
The salon itself, with its modern mix of stone and wood, became the ideal setting for this shoot. It is not only his workplace but also a stage where his artistry is performed daily.
For me, these photos go beyond simple documentation. They tell the story of a man who turned a simple nickname into a professional identity. “Sohail Fade” is not just a title, it’s a style — a mark of distinction in the world of men’s grooming. In the end, what remains are lasting frames, keepsakes that carry meaning. I truly hope these photos will hold the same value for Sohail as they do for me. I’d love to hear your opinions.
