La Orilla: la primera película de terror margariteña en el Festival de Largos y Cortos de Oriente [Esp/Eng]

 Hola linda comunidad💕 El pasado jueves tuve la oportunidad de asistir al **Festival de Largos y Cortos de Oriente (ELCO),** un evento cinematográfico que se celebra anualmente para mostrar el talento audiovisual venezolano tanto a nivel nacional como internacional. Este festival promueve y premia producciones audiovisuales como largometrajes, cortometrajes, documentales, entre otros.

Hello nice community💕 Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend the **Festival de Largos y Cortos de Oriente (ELCO),** a film event held annually to showcase Venezuelan audiovisual talent both nationally and internationally. This festival promotes and rewards audiovisual productions such as feature films, short films, documentaries, among others.

   Este año se llevó a cabo del **15 al 20 de septiembre en 6 países y 16 ciudades.** En la Isla, los proyectos fueron proyectados en el **Complejo Cultural Francisco Lárez Granado** el miércoles y el jueves (día en el que asistí). Como me queda muy cerca de casa, estaba muy emocionada por ir. Lamentablemente no pude asistir ambos días, pero sin duda el jueves fue una experiencia inolvidable. La verdad me enteré de este increíble festival porque anunciaron el **preestreno de la primera película de terror grabada e inspirada en Margarita: La Orilla: un cuento de la isla de Margarita.** He seguido este proyecto desde sus inicios en redes sociales; de hecho, lo descubrí gracias a un TikTok que me apareció un día. Me llena de orgullo ver cómo, después de tanto esfuerzo y mucho corazón (que de eso hay de sobra), ya está viendo la luz.

This year it took place from September 15 to 20 in six countries and 16 cities. On the island, the projects were screened at the Francisco Lárez Granado Cultural Complex on Wednesday and Thursday (the day I attended). Since it is very close to my home, I was very excited to go. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend both days, but Thursday was definitely an unforgettable experience. I actually found out about this incredible festival because they announced the **preview of the first horror movie filmed and inspired by Margarita: La Orilla: un cuento de la isla de Margarita (The Shore: A Tale from Margarita Island).** I've been following this project since its inception on social media; in fact, I discovered it thanks to a TikTok that popped up one day. I am filled with pride to see how, after so much effort and heart (of which there is plenty), it is now seeing the light of day.

   El preestreno estaba pautado para las **4:00 p.m.** con una única función. Sin embargo, la asistencia fue tanta que tuvieron que abrir **dos funciones adicionales**, ya que las 216 butacas del complejo no fueron suficientes. Todas las funciones se llenaron por completo y la sala de espera estaba atascada de gente; algunas personas incluso esperaron hasta tres horas para poder entrar. En mi caso tuve la suerte de entrar a la segunda función luego de ser aplastada por un montón de gente para que me entregaran un ticket (que era el pase a la película), fui acompañada con dos amigos y menos mal porque me desespero cuando hay demasiadas personas en un espacio pequeño pero su compañía me ayudo a distraerme y todo valio la pena.

The preview was scheduled for **4:00 p.m.** with a single showing. However, attendance was so massive that they had to open **two additional showings**, as the complex's 216 seats were not enough. All showings were completely sold out and the waiting room was packed; some people even waited up to three hours to get in. In my case, I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the **second showing**, although I first had to survive the crowd that had gathered to get a pass. I was accompanied by two friends, which was a good thing because I get desperate when there are too many people in a small space, but their company helped distract me. And it was all worth it.

   No puedo dar spoilers de la película, pero espero que muy pronto la estrenen en cines para que todos puedan verla, porque realmente lo merece. Es una gran historia hecha con talento venezolano, y lo mejor nacida aquí mismo, en nuestra querida Isla. **Gracias por leer hasta aquí.**

I can't give away any spoilers about the film, but I hope it will be released in theaters very soon so that everyone can see it, because it really deserves to be seen.
