Quiero compartir con ustedes un lugar que tuve la oportunidad de visitar hace poco. Tenía unas cosas que hacer cerca de la **Avenida 4 de Mayo** y, al terminar, me quedó la tarde libre. Justo recordé que existía un mural que desde que lo hicieron siempre lo veía de lejitos. Lo más impresionante de ese mural es que fue hecho con **tapitas de plástico**.
Hello, **nice community**🌸 I want to share with you a place I had the opportunity to visit recently. I had some things to do near **Avenida 4 de Mayo**, and when I finished, I had the afternoon free. I remembered that there was a mural that I had always seen from afar since it was painted. The most impressive thing about this mural is that it was made with **plastic bottle caps**. Justamente son los colores de la bandera del estado **Nueva Esparta**, lo cual sospecho que fue a propósito. Me puse a investigar un poco en Google y descubrí que esta súper obra fue creada por el artista venezolano ***Óscar Olivares***. Forma parte de una serie de obras similares que él ha realizado en Venezuela y otros países. Al usar tapas de plástico busca concientizar **sobre el reciclaje y el cuidado ambiental**, al mismo tiempo que plasma la identidad de la isla con **símbolos de nuestra cultura.**
The caps are of different sizes and were painted in various colors, such as **blue, green, and yellow**, which are the predominant colors. These are the colors of the flag of the state of **Nueva Esparta**, which I suspect was intentional. I did some research on Google and discovered that this amazing work was created by Venezuelan artist ***Óscar Olivares***. It is part of a series of similar works that he has created in Venezuela and other countries. No crean que el mural lo completó solo el artista: fue una dinámica en conjunto con los pobladores de la isla llamada **“Pescadores de tapitas”**. Me hubiera encantado participar, pero sorprendentemente, aunque estemos en una isla, a veces la información no nos llega tan rápido. Recuerdo haber visto la noticia cuando ya el mural estaba terminado.😔

Desde hace muchos años he querido ser parte de proyectos así. Recuerdo que en primaria pintamos una **mandala gigante** en la pared de mi escuela como parte de una tarea, y disfruté un montón todo el proceso. Mientras más iniciativas como esta se presenten en la isla, más bonita se verá. Y si vives en esta hermosa isla, quieres que se vea bonita, porque al final **representa una parte de ti.**💕
I hope that this type of activity becomes more common on the island so that I can participate in one. For many years, I have wanted to be part of projects like this. I remember that in elementary school we painted a **giant mandala** on the wall of my school as part of an assignment, and I really enjoyed the whole process.
